After our friend the midwife killed one of our friend's babies then later killed her own, we became more convinced that while home births can work and usually do, that if there's any sort of complication, it's best to be in a hospital with people who know what they're doing.

The question was whether unassited births are possible or not (must admit it is such a naive qs). The plain answer is YES, IT IS POSSIBLE.

And it seems non of y'all are getting the question. "UNASSISTED", as in you do everything yourself including holding the baby when its coming out

Default Unassisted home birth

It is possible yes, but not advisable since you are excluding even the midwife in this scenario.

It's possible, it's happened. At the moment of birth, the woman gets a tremendous surge of adrenaline she could beat up a grown ass man, so giving birth on your own is a piece of cake.

Disclaimer: I'm aware that some women can beat up a grown ass man without the surge of adrenaline, but that a whole other thread.

It's included in the organic-back-to-our-roots movements. There's even a group of Americans- the 'Quiverfulls' such as the Duggars who believe God granted them duty to populate the earth. Think of a family in the 21st century with over 17 children, all from the same woman n man. Sio Mwafrika, it's happening right here in America.

Unassisted child birth must be an excruciatingly lonely, painful journey.

Yeah, I think they had a show or something. I can't imagine the toll on the poor woman's body. 17! I think that's physical abuse. A woman's body takes a year or two to recover from childbirth.

But you could also see it another way, as a special moment for the mum and child to bond. Can you imagine being able to bring your own child into this world, as in actually hold her/him as he comes out. I feel sorry for the dad though lol, he'd have to be involved somehow but that would not be unassisted now would it.

I think this happens mostly in emergencies when there's no one else around. I doubt a lot do of women would do this by choice.

If you want to kill your child then yeah...why would anyone do this? To win the United Nations Unassisted Birth Awards (for psychos)
