LOL. You give me way too much credit. You mean in addition to saving lives in the real world, I've also been the 'highlight of the week' to a virtual twat like you? Like I don't get enough ego boosts already. If you continue this way, my head might get so puffed up (increased intracranial pressure) causing transtentorial herniation. You wouldn't want me to end up in a 'locked-in' syndrome, now would you? Go figure out that mechanism and report back to me, because it seems like you've way too much time on your hands. The in-depth knowledge you have of my posts betrays the fact that you've been stalking me around mashada like it's damn Twitter.

I didn't even know you existed, LOL.

MUK, I really liked your advice on utilizing google.

Kikolyo, you're a good man so I first have to apologize for playing a part in the derailment of your thread. Mashada can be quite a circus as you've seen too well already. Silly and amusing at the same time.

The beauty of the internet is that you can access all sort of information at the 'click of a mouse.' Kuopio probably has a home page; look for the department you're interested in, get their contacts (email/phone) and communicate with them directly.

I emailed your student in case she has any questions/concerns I can assist with. I truly believe that she'll be successful wherever she goes, be it Moi Med or the States.

Good luck!

Tihehehe!

@Ester
The feeling is mutual.I have been QUITE consistent on what I think about you.Today I will recommend a dunce-cap just for you in recognition of your medical guidance/knowledge. And all with love.

Na bado umeokoka, ama yesu umeweka kando sasa? By the way, are you the first in ur village to get a high school education? Si kwa ubaya, it helps understand a few things. Like putting the biblia mbele and a begging tin nyuma. Things like that. And there is nothing wrong with that, NOTHING.

U do ur thing sister. U might remind us of the Late genius Hillary Ojiambo and how we miss his work! Yet I never had that man say a word in public. Todays medical students must be..eerrr!

@Redi
Bana...now u done made us question our mashada medical humdinger Ngai fafa!

I was going to suggest titrating your fluoxetine and aripiprazole doses, but your symptoms remain refractory despite maximal interventions from our multi-disciplinary team.
just wondering, since u r a med student, i thought u would know a medulla oblangata has nothing to do with a persons thinking or emotional state. if am not wrong, i think it contains the cardiac, respiratory, vomiting and vasomotor centers and deals with autonomic functions, such as breathing, heart rate and blood pressure, no?

"Medulla oblongata" is considered a layman's term. Everyone understands what you're referring to. However anatomically speaking, the pre-frontal cortex of the frontal lobe is more accurate: it's where complex thought processes and decision making is formulated, in addition to acting in socially appropriate ways, etc.

However, you're a more sophisticated reader who at least understands that the brain's not a lump of whitish-grey "stuff." Different anatomical parts mediate different functions; sight, motion, proprioception, sensory stimuli etc.

Yes, you're right about the medulla.

hello, applications start early next year, I'd be delighted to offer some advice but not on this thread, too much negative energy. If you have time we can meet for coffee or tea some time in December and I can tell what I think is useful but in the meantime you can check out similar programs in Sweden, you have far much better chances there in every sense. In Finland the requirements are strict and finns are not famous for compromising, I know several people with excellent grades, who have been trying to get into the same programs for years even though they studied here, sorry if I sound discouraging but you should try with an alternative plan in the works.
