LOOOL, I have heard about the tiolets
Luckily we have an indoor one where I am going. Should I take my own tiolet paper.

I'm also a bit concerned about the roach issue. I hope my friends are exaggerating. I'm thinking of carrying RAID!!Just kidding about the raid!!

Just to update you guys on what I have decided and am still deciding....plus I like to have closure on these threads for others that may seek advice on the issue.

Today, I went to the "Take Care Clinic" that is located at Walgreens. They are taking a lot of insurances now. I got my tetanus and meningitis shot which needed to be updated...thanks Ester because I thought I was up to date on my old shots.

They waved the co-pay for the shots because they were immunizations. Oh, and for tetanus make sure you tell them that you recently cut yourself so it is covered by insurance.

They referred me to a nearby Take Care Clinic that is supposed to have Hepatitis A/B shot combined. I have had my B already, but it was a few years ago and they said it won't hurt. The hepatitis will be covered too.

As far as the yellow fever and malaria...I'm still deciding...will let you know.

Default We will All miss you

First, write your will before you leave for Kenya coz chances of returning are slim.
Those Kenyans you see have long developed immunity to all sorts of diseases. They even fack without a condom coz they got hiv immunity too. Problem is not Kisii nor Kisumu. Problem is how do you reach there safely, unharmed and without having already acquired an illness? There is Malaria, TB., Cholera, hiv, and yellow fever should be least among your concerns. What the heck, even Ebola outbreak might occur hours after you arrive. What will you do then?
Then there are muggers who lurk around the main airport in Nairobi 24/7. Make sure you have enough dollars on you coz if your purse is not loaded, you become kaput.

Friendly advice: if you really want to visit Kenya and be relatively safe, find your way thru’ Dar es salaam to Malindi (on the coast) and play freely on the beach. Its safe there coz so many wazungus, and no muggers there. All they might ask from you is a friendly fack. From there, board a light plane directly from Malindi to Maasai Mara. Watch the animals there. There are many flights by small plane from Maasai Mara to other tourist sites. Safe areas, those. Other parts of the country, too many muggers waiting for your arrival. Karibu.
