Default Moi Plants the seed of fear in Kalenjins, over their Land and Ndungu Land Report. - 09-26-2007, 03:07 PM

If there is one issue Raila will regret ever mentioning or discussing, it is his unequivocal contention that he will, without question, implement the Ndungu Land Report recommendations on Land reform.

Ever the watchful and consummate politician adept in the art of political survival, Moi has instantly seized on the claim to plant the seed of mistrust in ordinary kalenjin farmers in rural areas about the true intentions of Raila where land is concerned. Given how highly sensitive Kalenjins are about land matters, there is already heightened suspicion that Raila's true intentions are less than honourable.

Moi was back in Nandi hills today and this time, instead of being heckled, he was actually being listened to and being given the KANU one finger salute, even as he campaigned for Kibaki.

Raila has had to come out once more to say that he has nothing against Moi and he will not harm him if he becomes President. However, the damage is already done. Moi is never the type to be given an opportunity to hit back at you effectively as he will make sure he finishes you off first. In other words, he is not Kibaki! Already, his son Gideon has issued a press statement condemning Raila's utterances on that report and you can be sure Moi will pursue the matter relentlessly just to keep the subject in the limelight and to occupy Kalenjins attention.

It is incredible how many have dismissed Moi as a spent force[Yet Again!!] and been taken in by his seeming senility. Too bad.

Without the RV Vote, Raila will have to put his dreams of State house on the backburner. It will be interesting therefore to see how he counters Moi now.

Moi was given a freakin job by Kibaki, this man will support him no matter what. He knows Kibaki will not touch him if he wins, thats why the old man supports a different party as long as Raila is not in it. Why can't he pull Uhuru up again like he did in 2002.
Raila on the other hand will definitely spark fears amongst the most corrupt, thats why he takes time off his campaign schedule to categorically state he will not harm Moi and the likes.

Did people already forget Mwiraria is back in the cabinet? Muruingi? Kibaki has figured fighting corruption will only cost him votes and Moi's support.

Uhuru had a big problem with ODM individual membership, now he has the same predicament in PNU, supporting a party that will essentially be in competition with him in the polls.

We need devine intention, and a big nyahunyo for these politicians.

How old are you and do you really understand Kenyan politics? What do you know about the history of Kenya and the land issue? If you dont know the history of Kenya as it relates to land matters, i suggest you go and check it out then come and make your comments from a knowledgable viewpoint.

I think implement the report will be to the benefit of the vast majority of kenyans be they Kalenjins, wapwanis etc, the most likely losser who are running scared are the rich conformist e.g Moi, Kenyatta, Kibaki etc who are struggling to keep their loot at all cost even if it means igniting ethnic clashes.

Raila is mentioned in the report as having grabbed the molasses land. Will he cut off his nose to spite his face, or will he selectively implement the reports recommendations? There is just too much hypocrisy and untrustworthiness oozing out of Raila.

The only person Moi is sure of is Kibaki because Kibaki has never prosecuted any thief even those who stole right under his nose. With Raila Moi is sleepless because he does not know what Raila will do. And you know what, Moi should spent sleepless nights wondering what will happen to him. He had no sympathy for people he tortured physically and I have no sympathy for him

Moi will not change the Tide in RV. sure he will get some meagre votes for kibaki But the mojority (85%) will not vote for kibaki .The issues run deep and I can bet you moi will not affect the overall outcome.Raila should shut up though and not provide Moi unnessary Ammunition .No need to engage Moi ,give him a complete political black out let him continue living in his own world ODM should stay on course. the message has to be clear, consistent and coherent something that is missing of lately. ODMaides and handlers need to take care of this before it gets out of hand most of this error and double speak can be avoided by having the speakers rehearsing on the speech. By now Arap mibei should be having on of those I have a dream, Martin Luther King kinda of speech, a speech that will resonate all over the land. This would be a great time to start rolling out data backed plans . Health care plan, free primary school plan, Free secondary school plan, Job and wealth creation plan, Infrastracture plan, etc let us move this campaign a notch higher

Kip i think what the author is saying is, underestimating Moi is not good. And if ODM does not learnt to counter him soon enough. the same propaganda the threw behind wako draft, is the same medicine him and his henchmen will use against ODM

dont underestimate Moi, this is not 2002
