Come clean on Goldenberg, Raila tells Moi and Mudavadi

The opposition yesterday reopened the Goldenberg can of worms, with a challenge to President Moi and Vice-President Musalia Mudavadi to explain how the country lost billions of shillings in questionable export payouts.

Former Energy minister Raila Odinga claimed that the two knew how the country lost the money, and dismissed as "a lie" Mr Mudavadi's explanation in which he distanced himself from the scandal.

Addressing a NARC rally in Ngong Town, Mr Odinga said: "Musalia and (President) Moi know the whole truth about Goldenberg and they should come out clean.

"Mudavadi was the Finance minister in 1993. He first paid out the Sh5.8 billion in export compensation and then the Sh13.5 billion. I know what I am talking about. I stand for the truth and the VP and the President should come out and prove me wrong."

Addressing the rally attended by NARC presidential candidate Mwai Kibaki and former Vice-President and Finance minister Prof George Saitoti, Mr Odinga claimed that Mr Mudavadi must have been aware of what was going on since he was the minister in charge.
But in a quick reaction, both the President and the VP separately dismissed the claims as cheap politics and propaganda.

This is too funny.

Raila on record pointing out the thieves Moi and Mudavadi...

Roll on 2007 and Raila has been in bed with both Moi and Mudavadi. Underlying factor? Power...a hunger for power. The man will do anything to get the seat.

Salala.

Default A chameleons diet is still flies no matter the color change!

Raila stands for change! change of party; change of partners in crime; change of ideology; Yes Raila stands for change, but for the people he represents, they change not. They remain poor and destitute!

You are so much opposed to Moi's support of Kibaki yet, when Uhuru calls Mudavadi a thief, then goes ahead to name him his would be vice president, you now tell us that there are no permanent enemies in politics.

True that this guy Raila cannot organize anything to help his constituency. To believe he can bring olympic games to Kenya is a joke. However it does show onething Raila is aremarkably stupid fellow whose priorities are backwards. First solve the problems of kibera hunger and poverty before talkig of bringing olympic games.

-What Economic benefits are likely to arise by prospects of such thoughts

Kenya starts gettin world attention.hence more tourist,Potential investors in olympic business starts strategizing in developing infrustructure (stadiums,hotels,etc)..that means new business...

in -short...economy is merry bound in anticipation of seven events...even if we dont host the games

next...dont stretch ur stupidity...years AHEAD

Mafia,

If we can leave out words like 'stupid' for a while (and mind you I also know how to use it but I won't), listen to what Raila said:-

“I intend to make Kenya the first country on the African continent to host the Olympic Games,” he promised.

I quoted his words verbatim for fear of being misquoted by people like you AND SIR, YOU MISQUOTED ME ON THIS!!!

I didn't say that RAila said that he'd bring the OG during his presidency. No!!!

What i said was a matter of inference.

Let's use logic and then, you'll arrive at the same point as me.

NExt Olympics will be held in 2008. RAila might be president.

2012, RAila is re-elected president-perhaps.

In the same 2012, the OG will be held in England (London).

as Flexxxx says, the countries/cities bidding for the 2016 OG are Chicago; Tokyo; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Prague, Czech Republic; Doha, Qatar; Madrid, spain. First of all, thesea re all rich countries but that is not all that there is.

One of them will win the bid.

There will also be a bid for OG 2020 after the London 2012 OG and here, in 2012, President Raila Odinga will have his first short at bidding for the 2020 OG

Assumin g Raila goes for 10 years from 2007 to 2017, that means that it won't happen in his presidency and I didn't even say he promised to have it durin ghis presidency.

WHAT I SAID IS HE IS PROMISING THE OG DURING HIS PRESIDENCY AND EVEN IF IT FAILS, AND IT HAPPENS DURING HIS SUCCESSOR'S TENURE, IT WILL BE DUE TO HIS EFFORTS WHILE HE WAS PREZZO.

You deliberately omitted that part.

Back to my analysis:-

After president raila is gone in 2017, the next guy takes over until 2027. Technically, we can have hosted the Olympics games in 2020 during RAila's predecessor's second year of his first term in office as a result of Raila's effort in bidding for the games in the year 2012 during his tenure.

If it doesn't happen, we can bid for the 2024 OG,

BUT THEN, IT WON'T BE ODINGA DOING THE BIDDING BECAUSE HE'LL NOT BE PREZZO IN 2020.

Therefore, RAila won't occasion a bid for the OG during his presidency!

That is my inference Mr. Mafia.

I had to repeat myself in order for to to shika what I am saying. It sounds repetitive and boring but what can I do when you refuse or even fail to understand me.

Dude i wish all kenyans were like you. I hope we get the olympics some day. But id hate for us to embarass ourselves. Greece almost did. They couldnt raise enough money to finish the building work in time so i think we need to be very carefull when we decide to host the games. It might just break us as a country. There is nothing worse than embarassing ourselves infront of the world media.
I hope the the guy has a secreat up his sleves on how to get te money to build the stadium and the infrastracture.

Default glamour

this the kind of showy populist glamour we can expect from Raila.

instead of telling his people in kibera how he can help get them out of poverty, he's telling people about Olympic games...

We would all love to host the Olympics...but lets have our priorities right..we are still a poor nation. we have to walk first, before running at the Olympics.
