[QUOTE=KEMINOKANA;439273]Jotero,
I can bet that this Edwin Rotich's real name is probably Joe Ochieng or something of the sort and doesnt work for Equity bank. But because some of these people have been blinded by hatred, they would careless if millions of innocent hardworking kenyans lose their investments as well as their jobs as long as a bank "owned" by Kikuyus is brought under. This is the kind of self destructive mentality that has left africa poor for generations. Keminikona me thinks its you who wrote this sheit. An now that you did not get the response you wanted, you are taking advantage of the POLITICAL tension between luos and kikuyus to twist it around and make it sound as if some luo "ochieng" wrote it. Stop acting like Kisiis love kyuks. Some Kisii friends of mine in here in the D town brag about how in Kisii town no Kisiis buys anything from a kyuk store lmao. |

excuse me ? I am not my tribe or a representative of my tribe In any way. and neither are you a representative of your tribe Step away from tribal cocoons and look at everything critically and objectively. let your opinions including your thoughts should be based on ideologies and not narrowed to tribal biases.

Kamila,
Are you trying to say I'm senator 76? LOL Ur a jinga type for real. Am not here to make it seem that kisiis love kikuyus. I dont know where u got ur statistics but I just came back from kisii and most of the guys seem to love kibaki. So stop playing games here. I dont even have time to write this piece of nonsense and as someone who works in Finance, this is the last stunt i'd pull on my own country and quite frankly, sina time. But if u wanna take my tribe and use the tribalist in u to make a point, ur mistaken. Am a kisii who loves all kenyans jinga hii. Either way, this email was sent via the Jambo and here is the copy and paste. From : Edwin Rotich <edwinkibet2000@yahoo.com> Reply-To : "An East African Online Forum Dedicated to Information Exchange."<jambo@publiceyesite.org> Sent : Wednesday, July 25, 2007 11:25 PM To : jambo@publiceyesite.org Subject : [Jambo] EQUITY BANK- Is it kenyas other Pyramid scheme ??????? | | Junk E-Mail | Inbox We've identified this mail as junk. Please tell us if we were right or wrong by clicking Junk or Not Junk Dear readers, You may never have heard of me...but worry not because i mean no harm at all. I work at Equity bank as a cashier at a branch in town but am looking for a job since i see no future with this bank. I just want to warn you,be VERY careful about EQUITY BANK. All is not as rosy as it seems.There are people playing Russian roulette with hard earned savings of Kenyans and the unfortunate thing is that the low income earners are the ones who will be affected by the eventual collapse of Equity bank. The revelations in parliament recently is just a tip of the iceberg. The Bank is actually in the RED. The fact that it is surviving is because it has got political backing right from the country's top executive. The youth development funds being channeled through it and also the womens development fund are just a cover up. Those funds from government are actually being used to give the bank the much needed shot in the arm. This is for the simple reason that there have been large payouts to well connected individuals in the form of unsecured loans that characterised the growth of now collapsed banks such as Trade Bank,Delphis Bank,Bullion Bank and Trust bank. The top CEO's portfolio is also very suspect and top management is composed of individuals from one community. The Assistant Minister Peter Kenneth claimed that the manager resigned in 1982 from Trade bank,however,note that Trade bank was not in existance then! The ambitious expansion embarked on by the bank and the installation of ATM machines in record time is also very suspect. To refresh your mind,you can remember that just before the collapse of UCHUMI Chain of supermarkets,they had embarked on a countrywide expansion,opening up stores in almost every town. if in doubt,ask yourself why banks that have been around for quite a while like the Co-operative Bank have not had such expansion rates despite mainly catering for the low income earners. in short,this is a classic case of a pyramid scheme,only these time,its on a large scale. For the price of a share to shoot to an all time high for a company that has been on the stock exchange for less than a year leaves a lot to be desired. Watch this space dear kenyans,and you will quote me right in days to come. There is a way out though...the time to get out is now. Its better to keep your money under a bed/matress than wait for a few people to steal it and forever never step in the inside of a courtroom. I know each of you has got a relative,friend,sister or brother associating with this bank. Please help them by talking to them.Don't force them but just be gentle. This is an election year and politicians are desperate to get money for dishing out,and by putting money in Equity Bank,you have willingly funded them for their greedy gains. FAMILY FINANCE is also part of the gravy train but that is just a story for another day. You are welcome to dismiss me as a false alarmist,arguing without facts but sometimes its the blind lead the way. - Entire and Original article from author "Dasany"(stockskenya.com :: information and analysis on kenya's stock market, the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE)) Your views and alerts can help save another Golden berg or Anglo Leasing from happening and enable a soul to live another day!!!! Having seen your photo, you have no business disparaging anyones physical/facial features (brown toothed or not). You say in Mois era there was no tribalism. Explain why the well paying companies like Pyrethrum Board, Kenya Pipeline, and man civil servies jobs at the lower level were filled with one tribe. Ok lets assume there was no tribalism. The economy was not growing at all. There were declining direct foreign investments. Banks were ripping off people (prior to Dondes bill). A citizen could not get a passport, drivers license, birth certificate, service at KNH, service from the police, basically anything without a bribe.People were taking years to graduate from university. Dubious colleges were mushrooming from everywhere. Farmers considered themselves lucky if they were paid for their goods. I think I see your point. Lets switch tribalism with zero percent economic growth and chaotic public service. |

I thin the question we should be asking ourselves is;- If Equity's growth strategy is so wrong then WHY are the BIG jealous competitors copying it? They are running to reopen the branches they closed and having desks to hawk loans and accounts in our estates. I feel there is a hand of competition in this letter and from the questions asked in our corrupt parliament there might be some political mischief! I have come across this letter from different authors claiming to be the originators , so who's the REAL AUTHOR?
Would we rather pay rates to multinationals that have milked our economy for so long or try to develop our local institutions to compete effectively with the world. Does the author of the letter understand the first thing about selling of financial services? do they understand the history of Equity? or any other financial institution? To understand they might need to see the history some of these banks that are said to be "good". The Toad. |

At this point in time very few kales will vote for Kibaki. Go and see for yourself in kalenjin.net or call any of your kale pals and ask him what the parents are saying back in shagz. We can argue here on mashada forever but unless the land issue is dealt with kales are unlikely to vote for a kuk again. I suggest you tell kibaki to start a landless fund along the women and youth fund rather than wasting time cutting deals with Moi. Unless kikuyus face up and make sacrifices for other kenyans they will always find themselves, too put it politely disliked. Land and corruption are two things Kibaki must address in his campaigns to win the election. If he rumbles on about 6.1% then I suggest you prepare yourself for a hands down defeat. Blaming Raila for all ills just makes him more popular. Remember he has not been president so he can promise the world and get away with it. Going for Pippy's neck wont make it an easier for Kibaki. |

Old School I do not need to ask what kales are saying in shagz. I know enough Kales who can I can talk honestly with to understand the mood on the ground. The land question is overblown Kales don't like Kibaki because he is seen as having purged the civil service of Kales and clipped their wings as well as disrespected Moi. However Kales have also benefitted a lot from this government rural kales dairy farmers, maize farmers and so on. There were always kales who were against the clashes and aided the victims don't get carried away by Kalenjin online forums they tend to be like mashada highly polarized and attracting the most rabid tribalist even fake (Kale) rabid tribalists like pippy. One thing I can tell you is that Kales don't like or trust Raila that is a pippy myth.
