No wonder George Orwell Wrote "Animal Farm"- for Characters like Squealer. Can you see the resemblance:

Quoted from The East African Standard:

Joe Wanjui rained on Obama’s speech

As I sat at Taifa Hall at the University of Nairobi listening to Senator Barrack Obama, I was a proud Kenyan. Proud in the shared ancestry with this great man, and proud that one of our own came from America to remind us of simple things; things that if taken for granted would lead to failure.

He took a swipe at the mismanaged radical surgery in the Judiciary, the ineptness of the police force, nepotism at the centre of Government, tribalism, and tribal politics.

I was happy because here was another great Kenyan-American telling us our problems, and the man received a standing ovation.

But immediately, Mr Joe Wanjui, the Chancellor, punctured my ego. The man said Obama could not compare Kenya’s economy at independence with that of Korea. That true comparison should start from 1906. My God. And this man advises our President on economic matters!

If people around the President cannot accept basic facts, then the advice they give will spell more doom for President Kibaki.

Who does not know that our economy was at par with the Asian Tigers at independence? And now those economies are 40 times better than ours. And mark you, President Kibaki was minister for many years, longer than any of his successor.

As the country’s economy was failing, personal economy of the ruling elite and other court jesters was rapidly improving.

That is why Wanjui could not bring himself to accept that there is a problem. What could have been an inspiring evening for me, was rapidly killed by some inflated ego.
