I for one love her new joint. I love the lyrics to it. India.Arie sound great and she still got it going on. I am not my hair is a bangin joint. I going to cop her new album when it come out this spring. I know it's going to be off the hook. If you haven't heard I am not my heair yet I have included the link so u can check it out for yourself.

India has a unique voice but i'm getting a little tired of her 'you go girl' type of songs...it was cool with the first one about being yourself and that it's ok NOT to be a model and all....'I'm not my hair' sounds like the exact same Afro girl power anthem type of thing. It's beginning to sound a little defensive if you ask me....as in if you love yourself so much then why do you have to keep defending your features?

As much as i love India for her uniqueness and down to earthness, i saw something that caused me to pause...it was this MTV documentary where she goes to Kenya and Ashley Judd goes to Madagascar i think it was, i remember at some point she said that Kibera was 'gross' and 'disgusting' and how in the world can people live here!!!.
Yes Kibera ain't exactly prime real estate but i was shocked that she said that. You would think someone like India would be more sensitive.

But anyway she went ahead and hung out with the kids and hugged and touched them and fed them played guitar with them and all so in the end she redeemed herself.

My personal favorite is 'Brown Skin' ...and 'Strength courage and wisdom'. Especially Brown Skin....i dare anyone to find a song that makes Blackness so sexy and desirable....that song kills me everytime ...

Actually the song with Roberta Flack and Donnie Hathaway called "Be Real Black for Me" is one that definitely identifies with blackness and reconfirms the proud attitude we should have about our heritage and culture. India.Arie definitely did her thing on Brown Skin but she had some great inspiration. I am in anticipation of this album and they haven't given a release date as of yet.

Mos Definitely!!!! I'm feeling her new song but if you haven['t heard the remix with her and Swizz Beats or even the one with her and Akon for her single "I am not my hair" then you've been missin' some nice ISH!!!! Swizzy really hooked her up. You can hear a bit of the Busta Joint in the beat, but Akon got nice on her song aswell. I might have to go with the Akon version a bit more. Peep it out!!

It's mad hot but the remix is off the chain. She has two hot remixes for I am not my hair. One she has with Akon and it has the original beat and the other is with Swiss Beats, off the chain, the beat is niiiiccccceeee. If y'all didn't hear it then hear it goes. I got a hookup on it. I really don't hear it gettin' the love it deserves on the radio in the NYC.

indie arie knows what she's doing unlike some musicians....am not my hair is a wicked wicked song...mad respect to india arie!!:D
