I was watching these three jamaaz on MTV the other night doing their thing. I know most of you have heard the song "locked-up" by Akon and Styles P. I think the song has hit number 3 on trl. Anyway they were wearing T-shirts with a flag on the front and at first I was thinking this niggaz must be from some caribean country, but later on I saw Senegal on that nigga Akon's shirt. I was like g** damn them niggaz was from Africa and I was thinking to my self that they had just raised the bar for everyone from the motherland especially for wannabes like kina prezzo(maad luv for a bru) and their ilk. If their single (Locked up) has gone that high on US Charts then it means they have made it. Sooner or later we will be watching these jamaaz show us their cribs and mots on mtv cribs senegal edition. These guys are really representing for the west, but now we need someone from the east i.e Kenya to represent for us.

The other day a friend heard a TID(dude from TZ) song playing in a Mexican restaurant. So I think soon and very soon some of these East African songs are going to make their way to the US Airwaves(hopefully).

im in australia a land that has very few miroz(niggaz) and for that matter fewer kenyans,like 500 in total.but twice in different hanyez,of junguz,classy and sh1t,theyve played nameless' maisha nad holiday.couldnt believe my ears!and nazizi too!how 'bout that!

Akon was born here but raised in Senegal for a while. You cant expect musicians born and raised in Africa to have the same sucess, especially in rap. They would have to go through thorough ebonics before they're even given a chance unless they go the neosoul route,they might have a chance. Hope you noticed Akon has a thorough american accent, only way you can tell he's African is through his looks.

The only Kenyan they can chezza is Necessary Noize. who wants to listen to Prezzo when he wants to imitate 50 cent. TID is original. He croons in pure swa and u end up enjoying.

first of all
for rap they have to understand what in the hell u are saying for them to play it
its hard to go international when your not rappin in english
realise that akon raps in american slang ...his rap is fully american its just that he says he's from africa thats why u know
