hey y'all! theres this thing ive observed in kenya for quite some years.During the late80's and early 90s when i was listening to rap music, alot of guys here especially in nrb used to consider it not an in thing. why? cuz nobody is listening to it and tis notin style:thenwait untill metro was lauched and BOOM everybody wants to rap[or is it yapping?] This behaviour has really left me wondering what really kenyans are. Something is'nt COOL untill we hear/see it in club or a group of COOL guys doing it.
thats why ive come to conclude that majority of kenyans [if not all] are just music fanatics and not fans[prove me wrong]
TO prove it? jam some music infront of a person he has never heard it b4 and youll see no reaction then if the same song happens to get on top of a chart then you will hear the same person coming to sifia you how tight the song is!
the same thing with rock. back in the day pple use to say im crazy cuzf listening to the music.funny thing the same ppl are coming to borrow from me the rock collection thet i have. why? cuz some cool DUDES are listening to it in rocknite at carnie or kachoi!
letme hear if theres any different angle to this observation

i bet this thing happens all over the world , people admire or like what majority likes

also i believe that music has to grow on someone so that he or she likes that type of genre or the track .........

example is when i listen to a track the first time , i wont like it that quickly, but when i listen to it more and more and some verses and lyrics stick to my head then i will like the music

another example is there are lots of music i used to hate {not really rap} when i heard them on radio or if my brother plays the music but when i go to club and see how club bangers are dancing and getting down , the mood and such stuff then i become addicted example is

back the ***** up -------->>>> i really hated this joint back at home but when i came here and saw how mamas here were shaking da thing ha!

also hot in herre ------>>> i was wondering why nelly had sung such a wack song when released , then went to club in the weekend and saw guys and chicks taking their clothes of and singing "let the mother***ca burn

thats what fans all about ......... but we have something called d!ck ryding ... which is worse

You do have a point, but as Yeah said it.. music tends to grow on someone. The first time you listen to a track you may not necessarily like it, but the more you listen to it, the more it seems to rock..
