Default What is it with the African hip hop that makes it appealing - 09-30-2002, 03:57 AM

People whet it's weekdays you talk of all the rap, rockand pop music as being dope then come weekend we are doing the turky dance at tacos bar before we slide on to k-1 or k-2 for the huku kuku dance. Why are't we original like the guys who like and worship lingala or ragge damu. Can we have a msimamo and decide if we tak pili or tasker. If you take all you'll black out and that's trippin.

Must be the lyrics and the rhyme!! Take K-South for instance:

"Navaa mbota na vipuli,
kofia kaa bakuli,
naleta habari kama Cathy Kasavuli"

Or Sound Pound:
"If you see something spectacular,
and it drains your blood like Dracula,
like Sound Pound's rhyme vernacular,
sema...
Kama rhymes zina kusumbua akili,
tuki rap, tunarhyme kawa wakili,,
ni Sound Pound jo tumewasili..."

:-)
"Even Miraa has an expiry date. Check under the leaves!"
