Music and me- Nate Dogg -
11-19-2001, 12:23 PM
Is anybody feeling Nate Dogg and how do u think his next album will be like. Nate Dogg to me represents G Funk to its fullest. Every hook he has sang the last couple of years have made the songs instant hits.
Regulate with Warren G
Scandalous with Tupac
Area Codes with Ludacris
I wont deny it with Fabulous
Oh No with Mos Def and Pharaohe Monche
Lay Low with Snoop
AND MANY OTHERS. Also check out his first CD " G FUNK CLASSICS"

I stand to correct you. The reason his first cd sold 150,000 was because it was released by an independent record. Most records that are released independently seldomly reach 500,000 copies. An artist who releases independently gets about $9 per cd sold. When you sign to a major label you get about $1 per cd.

i was not looking at the finances perspective but hey its
always good to know but check this out if that theory
exists too many artists would be goin that way don't you think
they would be like fak it lemmie do it indy style
that way since i'm consistent and i got a huge fan base
# of fans+amount off each cd=filthy wealthy
and on another note what does he do ........rap?// if he does
whats the differrence btn nelly and him?//.. and how come he did not freestlye
in the booth?//...does he sing?(which in
my point of view he does)

The reason most people dont go independent is because you use your onw money to promote the cd and u dont have a label to distribute it. Some cd's cant even be found in all stores. That limits its ability to reach a larger audience. Do you also notice that almost every rapper has his own label. Thats because they end up getting more royalties from their album. if a guy like Dre didnt have the backing of Interscope, it would be hard to get his cd in every music store. A label will advertise your cd, pay you advances and a lot of benefits.

so seriously how do you expect to be successful
and you are not consistent(am not alking abt hooks)
gimme a song he does on his own.........the g-funk classics
itself is riddled by guest appearances?// my point is this
he basically cannot support track alone and most albums
fall short beacuse of cameos.......

I am not saying that his album will go break records or anything like that. What I meant was that tis finally great that after almost a decade of singing hooks and helping rappers blow up, he will also get a chance to shine. Elektra records will help him reach the audience he never did with his independent G funk classics record

Whether its 1st, 4th twetieth time lucky Ido not care. All I care is that I like his sounds(call it rap or what you wanna) and his gonna always be one of my favourites. Is there an album he hasn't appeared in this year? He has a way of making others sound good-and imean making others sound good!
