Default Spot the African    Show Printable Version  Print   Email this Page  Email

Lately i have been playing the spot the african game when i watch movies. There are the usual suspects (idris, chiwetel, djimon) but what about lessor known people. Lets see how many you can name and the movie.

1. mary oyaya - kenyan - Star Wars episode II, Farscape, Lost Souls
2. bambadjan bamba - ivory coast - I think I love my wife (tv - the sopranos, law and order)
3. caroline chikezie - nigeria - Eragon, Breaking and Entering, Take 3 girls, The mistress of spices, As if, Virtual Sexuality and Aeon Flux (was hot on bbc's Footballer's Wives).

Okay, i have started you off. Let's see what you come up with. I know more but want to see if anyone else is noticing the african influx.

Default Here is another one

Edi Mue Githegi - Kenya - that someone mentioned earlier in one of the threads. He is Boa on Lincoln Heights and has had quite a prolific career. He was also on House as one of the interns. Edi Mue Gathegi, California « Kenyan Jewels

He has had quite an extensive career and I can't wait to see what he gets into next.

There were a lot of Kenyans in the Matrix final two movies but I don't know their names...friends of friends of friends. Good gig; light workload, free food and good pay

Default Good ones

I didn't know about the folks in the Matrix. Nice to know. Unknown fact, Damon Dash and Stacy Dash are cousins who were born in the states but are born to Cape Verde parents...that smells African to me!!

Usual suspects: Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba, Djimon Housou, Thandie Newton, Sophie Okenodo, and highly underrated Peter Mensah.
