Interesting cos I have been pondering on movies for such a while mpaka I'm considering going to Columbia University's School of the Arts for the Film MFA program.
Imagine if we could produce Block buster movies about the sundry issues occurring in Africa. I'd like to see classics like 'Mashetani', 'Kaburi bila Msalaba' even 'Whispers' coverted into movies. Kwanza there is so much drama in Nai that is movie-worth. Life in a place like South B or Buru. Drama of matatuz. Drama of hubbies messing with the mboch. A school kid's ordeal going to school in a full ma3 packed compact with diabs all shapes, all sizes, all smells. Muziki kwa fujo, pickpockets plying their trade...The movie 'Constant Gardener' has been such an inspiration.
BTW check out the movie' The Battle of the Sacred Tree' when u get a chance.

Also check out the new South African movie, Tsotsi which was featured at the 'Toronto Film Festival'

I hope 'Memoirs of a Geisha' won't disappoint. I also agree that the movie should have been made in Japanese with English subtitles. That would aunthenticate the story.
Judi Dench rocks! She was in 'Shakespeare in Love' and 'As Time goes by'. She is so dymanic, so fluid regardless her advanced age.
