If you liked Gladiator, Samurai, Braveheart, First Knight et. al. this is your kind of movie. Even if you did not, you have Brad Pitt to stare at the whole movie. He looks really fyne in this (even better than he did in Legend of the fall). Orlando is giving him serious compe (what a hearthrob)....

An Epic Greek story based on the legendary fall of Troy and its heros (Achilles/Hercules and Hector). Lots of blood and some sad scenes (the lowest moment was the slaying of Hector).

Worth every dime.

You must be a chille and a huge Pitt fan coz enyewe this movie isn't all that. I admire anyone who stayed interested in it the whole time they were watching. It was just BORING!!! Dialogue was just dry and seemed so contrived and unreal..like they were reading off cue cards or something....
This coming from a person who has been dying to see it coz i liked the movies you listed up there.
But face it....Brad Pitts accent was HORRIBLE...worse than Johny Depps in 'Pirates'...Calle me purist and whatever but if you're doing a cockney then get it right. Especially that scene where after he clobbers that jamaa he says with syke ati ..'IS THERE NO ONE ELSE!!! IS THERE NO ONE ELSE!! and then the other part where he says
'IMMORTALITY!!.. SEEK IT!! ITS YOOOORSS!....yaani i have never cringed more in my life!!! it's one thing if you do a bad accent but it's another when you actually SHOUT it for emphasis....that was painful

But Eric Bana was good. At least he seemed like he cared. Pitt's Achilles just seemed so bila interest the whole time...i mean i know he's playing Achilles....the great worrior god who was heartless and arrogant and felt nothing for anyone or anything but come on man!! that doesn't mean you just prance around the whole freakin two and half hours just looking as if you want to be somewhere else.

Anyway Brad Pitt is not a leading man. He's a great character and small role actor. I mean in 'snatch' he was brilliant man! and he NAILED that scottish accent to boot so i was like ..what went wrong..

I actually swatched during this movie..the only other times i've done that was during harry potter when i took my bros and lord of the rings. Anyway the battle scenes were off the hinges.

All I can say is that you were probably having a bad day. Try and watch Troy when your moods are a little elevated. It really is a fantastic movie. I was going to offer to come along with you before I read your ratings....:)

Anyways different strokes for different folk. And don be hatin on my boy Brad. Oh man..just thinking about the jamaa makes me happy hahaha.

I don't think the movie potrays the Illiad as strongly as it should.

Brad Pittman's weak performance is by far the undoing of the movie perhaps that is why I didn't enjoy it at all.

Personally i don't feel Pitt that much in movies. He's just over- rated coz of his looks. This tells you why he has never won an Oscar.

For me i don't think I can take another Braveheart/ Gladiator/A Knight's Tale esp. not one acted by Brad Pitt.

..were you watching the same movie i was watching cause the one i was watching was kickass.....i never liked Pitt's acting before Snatch...(needless to say it's one of my favourite movies) and this movie just ongezad my rating for his acting..
..i guess its a case of different tastes...
