Default Circumcission, Non-Circumcission, Statistics & USAID - 09-14-2008, 02:11 AM

We Africans are sooo easy to confuse & divide!

How many idiot experts have we seen comming down here to lecture us on god, clothing, shelter, food and later realized they were at best (genuinely?) wrong or really with malice & prejudice?

Now that the great USAID (a dream employer for many africans) released a silly unscientific report claiming that if you are circumcissed guy, you have half a chance of contracting HIV than an uncircumsissed chap!

Wow! So now the abuses spewed forth a dime a dozen! Luos vs the rest! (did not see any tesos or turkanas in this clash of "manhood")

A basic question arises-whats the comfort in the numbers? Would you play russian/japanese roulette because USAID tells you that you have a double chance of not contracting HIV?

Would you?

This is one of the silliest reports from the American sabotage/confusion/division-causing machinery in recent times!

And we just swallowed it hook line & sinker!

For heaven's sake let us form our own opinion-our unity is our strenght our disunity is their strength.

Sample these and/or check the links for more detail:
All that has been found is a correlation: the studies reveal nothing about causation. Since they have a narrow focus on trying to prove the connection between the foreskin and HIV infection, they simply ignore dozens of cultural, behavioural and biological factors which may be relevant.]

According to the scientific studies, the skin on the inside of the male foreskin is “mucosal,” similar to the skin found on the inside of the mouth or nose. This mucosal skin has a high number of Langerhan cells, which are HIV target cells, or doorway cells for HIV.

[The female genitals are full of Langerhans cells as well: that’s what the body is made of in mucosal areas. Presumably something will also have to be done about the vulnerable mucosal tissue in the mouth, urethra and all other areas where it is found. If the tissue of the foreskin is like that of the mouth, how come there are no reliable reports of oral infection with HIV?

Women are more susceptible to catching hiv so I can see how the study would be true.

The bottom line is people need to have safe sex and not sleep around. Regardless of if you are circumcised or not, everyone is at risk while there is for HIV/AIDS if you are sleeping around unprotected (or an IV drug user sharing dirty needles).

Realistik Dreamer:Mkiawakati (tail of times?)you need to stop this knee-jerk reaction kind of responses to some discussions man!

You are not addressing anything to do with the thread. You are just being divisive and abusive:

The foreskin is not a condom

Raila is not an oracle-not everything he utters may be factual/correct/relevant.

Luo adult males are men just like teso, turkana, kamba, hausa, zulu, kikuyu men it is self evident from their looks and biological functionalities like siring children even with women from circumcissing nations

A man is defined by his sense of responsibility, strenghth of character and i am sure even in your tribal myopic fog you may have seen many (perhaps someone close to you) circumsissed men acting like sissies, snitches, abandoning family, drunks, lustful hedonists, drug addicts, thieves.depraved.

The same vices many a non-circumcissed men have too.

So look at the thread agin, understand it and contribute.

You are an African.

Not a bleating knee-jerk hateful goat!

How will the stupid conclusions of this study help if say all male population in luo land circumcise:

a) will it halve the HIV prevalence? If so how does this really change anything? -the women will still want the fish & the fishermn will still want the favours-do your calculus. This report is BS!

b) what about the current people already living with HIV the carriers who may not even know they are so-isnt life just going on as usual?

When will this half prevalence because of circumsission start to kick in? When the current population is dead and buried? This report is BS!

c) So in theory if the whole of luoland. teso, turkana men are circumcised then there will be half chance of HIV prevalence. What does this mean in practical terms? Is it that those who circumcise have a double chance of surviving a dance with death? What does this mean?

Would you take the risk with this double free risk knowledge?

Shauri yako

This is USAID Bs to just spread hate mongering/confusions.

Instead of addressing the economic issues affecting Kenya, Africa.

We better not swallow non-sense always!

The above is the fact! All else is an agenda based event of a mischievious, malevolent kind!

If you are cut,you have a double chance of surviving death to that of an uncircumcissed man. How very reasuring! This report is pure BS!
