It should be illegal to show the face of a girl so young confessing, 14. She has a life ahead of her, whatever her misfortunes.

i think they get some kind of satisfaction from showing the worst of africa and airing it for the whole world to see. maybe this is a wake up call.

She may not have even personally sold herself. Maybe she was paid for the interview.

Default !?!? - 09-03-2008, 12:59 AM

why do miros whinge about all the bad stories in the western press, kila saa you read and hear about the the 'biased' western media. do we even bother telling our own successful stories? All you have to do is read our local dailies and watch our TV channels, there is nothing to smile about... kwani we expect CNN or BBC to come here and report on success stories, why dont we go to them with our stories? if its too difficult there's CNN's Ireport...

As far as child abuse is concerned, do we have any idea how rampant abuse is? do you have any idea of how many child molesters are walking scott free.... why hasnt our local media reported on the reality this issue... it would be prudent to accept we are quite f&cked up! (Don't start blaming MTV and the internet, as I as said we are more f&cked up than we will ever admit....)

The road to recovery starts with accepting we are flawed...

Nothing personal just tired of the whinging...

The point remains, I can read of other stuff in local media, gives a balanced view. A European does not have access to such variety. These people are racist, the sooner you accept the easier it will be to work out a response mechanism. Denial leads to a slow death.
