Silver! I think she made a tactical error. She mus have lost the leader and realized too late. She should change her strategy of holding back too much too late. This is the second time it has failed her, since the last time she couldn't catch the Japanese.

Okay!
So you're Type R?

women's marathon gold claimed by tomescu - the official website of the beijing 2008 olympic games

At least our Catherine didn't cry like the British Radclife!
bbc sport | olympics | athletics | tomescu wins as radcliffe toils

Default Congrats Catherine - 08-17-2008, 02:18 AM

Yes, Catherine the Great did it again. She didn't win any gold.. but the Silver is worth achievement.

We still have hope of more medals!

lmao... i had to crack at that one!

But it was so sad to see the American take bronze, when Dibaba and Abeylegesse went foward nikadhania bronze was our only hope through Linet Masai. Lornah Kiplagat running to the Netherlands really started na mioto...those orange socks were marvelolous! lol

Ndereba, Martha Komu and Kosgei made the error of not setting the pace. Had they kept the lead and ganged up together hiyo marathon ingekuwa gold, silver na bronze ya Kenya. I think Martha Komu was having either an upset stomach or she was cramping cos she was ahead of Ndereba and suddenly she started agonizing hence slowing down. The twist in her face sunk my heart.

1500m may be a little problematic cos Lopez Lomong and Bernard Langat will be competing. 10,000m and marathon r not guaranteed as well.

At least Kenya is getting some medals. Ghana is going to go back home na kikapu kavu. Sports we usually excel like boxing having augured poor results.

Seems like team tactics failed!
Lakini hata hizo 1500, 5000 and 10,000 we can still get a gold in each! But this is where team tactics come in and selfishness to be done away with!
