Default Prisons not reforming - 04-26-2008, 01:10 AM

[quote=faiyyy;653774]the problem is even if criminals who commit small offences are taken to prisons, the meet akina Wanugus and the like. What happens, those guys come out more toughened than reformed. He stole a perfume worth 100 bob, next he will rob the bank......

Hapo umeongea THe prisons do not reformed as is supposed to be their purpose. Petty thieves end up becoming big time robbers. This is a fact that hardcore criminals recruit small time thieves to run errands for them once they are out.

And worse, the prison wardens know of it and are accomplices in some cases.

Currently, the prison wardens are on strike. Good for people to demand their rights. But what would a criminal in prison take of a prison warder (supposed to be his/her role model) think of when seen blocking roads with stones/boulders? The Standard | Online Edition | Prison warders feel sidelined
If Uni students are arrested for throwing stones and blocking roads/obstructing traffic along Uhuru Highway and they end up with the same prison warden who was blocking the road.....

I realise that patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone.

Kweli - the new minister for magereza, whoever he or she is should help in making the reform schools for criminals but also better working places for the watchers!
