Default x LETS FIGHT AGAINST TRIBALISM AND HATREDx - 12-05-2007, 07:24 AM

To my fellow Kenyans,

Its is very very sad to see young and intelligent Kenyans trying to divide the peaceful Kenyans by posting hurtful tribal and hatred threads on the internet. It also hurts to see that most of the regular tribal and hatred threads originates from the Kenyans in the diaspora. This site is not only accessed by Kenyans. but it is also accessed by foreigners who seeks information about Kenya maybe for the possibility of investments et al. Do you think that after reading threads like "All Kikuyus should be killed" or "All Luos and Kalenjins should be killed" someone would want to visit Kenya or invest in Kenya? No, they will fear because the first thing that would come to their mind will be, Kenya is having civil wars. Kenya has been the most peaceful countries in the world and such like statements from people who aren't even in Kenya portrays a very bad picture of the country. Support whoever you want to win the elections without resulting into insults. We are all grown ups and we should think of the consequences of what we are about to post. Some may be posting the hatred threads as a hobby or as a joke, but whoever will be reading it will not take it as a joke.

I will ask for a small favor from the moderators if they happen to read this. Please, wake up from the slumber land and do something about the tribal and hatred threads.

To all Mashadites, this is just my opinion. I know that there are many who will agree with my sentiments and also many who will tell me to **** off, but all in all please LETS JOIN HANDS AND FIGHT AGAINST TRIBALISM AND HATRED.

WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS HAPPY NEW YEAR

Default Of the increase of hate speech on the forum - 12-05-2007, 10:14 AM

Quite on point!
There will be life after December 27th.

If the clamour for or against a particular political subject should cause us to stoop to such levels, we make nonsense of the 43 years of Independence.

It is so juvenile to resort to tribal bashing instead of keeping the debates at the intellectual arena were they rightfully belong.

It is shameful that forum members decorated as 'Senior Member' should take out chart space to spread hatred and disparage communities that have come out as being in competition with their own.

I hasten to say that I find it demeaning and invasive when I join the forum only to be confronted with thread after thread, spewing vitriol and calumny.

Soon visitors to the forum will be forced to discriminate between postings, so as not to be subjected to banal and low-rate contributions to the forum.

Maybe like you have suggested the moderator should take a pro-active measure in blocking hate speech and invectives.

The one and only solution to tribalism is to kill Kalenjins and Luos. Luckly there are doing that themselves.
