there is this family in shags which used to suffer from typhoid everytime there was an outbreak and to think they never drank anything else other than boiled water. Nai water is much safer than other places, alot of pple drink it unboiled and never complain of water borne diseases..and nowadays there is aquaguard for those who cant afford bottled water or hate boiled water.

When water is poured into a glass, it swirls around and settles, and the bubbles disappear. In a kiosk, those bubbles don't disappear - they just lie there, on the surface of still water, saying, "Drink me! My name is typhoid. Drink me!"

Furthermore, the pipes and joints are corroded and/or broken, leading to leakages INTO the water system -- including sewage getting into the water system (yes, you've understood me correctly). Other matter that can get into the water flowing through pipes include sand and soil, chemicals, soil-resident germs like anthrax. In some places, when it rains heavily, water backs up into houses via the taps (kitchen, bathroom, you hear it bubbling).

Someone who wants to become a councillor keeps bugging me for my vote. I ask, what does a councillor do? What are his responsibilities, job description, annual/5-year objectives, performance criteria, etc. Reply: silence. Town clerk, Min of Local Gov, Min of Works can all blame each other.
