Dude,
There is no safe place in nai siku hizi. Infact the more the population the safer it is. with a budget of 15k to 20k, i don't think you can get a house in kileleshwa, mostly 1 bedroomed houses go for around 18k. Try South "B" or South "C" (though South c there is a perennial problem of water, you have to buy enuff mitungi's). Another place you could try is Langata, esp the area near uhuru gardens there are quite a number of flats/apartments that have come up. Nyayo Embakasi, very nice houses, they are the 1st internet ready houses in the whole of nai, price range is around 22k to 25k depending on the landlord/lady.
Good luck you can't miss a nice place.

why do you guys back home equate being 'majuu' with being successful/having money?
This stereotype has to end, it irks me sooooo bad. And some of us here are guilty too since some try to portray that life is all good. Ufala.
AM STILL HERE

Another thing that annoys me, is people assuming just coz you've come from majuu you should use as much money as possible without complaining or asking too many questions. Some of us may have left Kenya but we took our senses with us. I wanted a place near my work place or right next to it, and this jamaa who was trying to get me a place was getting so pissed off, when I enquire details about the place so I can see if I'm getting worth for my money. As in the expect us to take a deal without asking any questions. He asks me, how much do you want to spend? I tell him , I'm more concerned about the kind of place then the amount, lets start with the details then I weigh if its worth it or not... anashindwa what the hell I'm I talking about, and asks again whats your budget? LOL .
E.g there are some apartments I see being advertised here (kenya), the rent is twice what I pay for my apartment here ... and the apartments zenyewe ...speechless*
