I hope it has now gotten into Mudavadi's and Jirongo's that they do not speak for the luhya community anymore. (Not that Jirongo ever spoke for Western province.) Mudavadi underestimated how seriously people took his bid for the presidency. As he pulled out of the race strictly for his own benefit at the expense of the community he claims to represent, well what did he expect? I laughed at the state of luhya politics here:

the chickens come home to roost!!

I wonder what the pro Uhuru so called "Abaluhya Council of Elders" have to say about this then!

Lakini yani if Mo1 was heckled in LD and Kabarak he thought he would be safe in Katch??!!

I know..I was pretty amazed that he was heckled in his hometown. Lakini what I am concerned about is that there are hired thugs being brought in "on buses" to cause chaos for pro-rainbow guys. Very, very disturbing but not surprising. We all need to show support for the Ghai team and what they are trying to do (speak for the people) at least the people that spoke.
If we allow ourselves to be intimidated, we aint going nowhere regardless of who replaces who or even (god forbid) regardless of a legal document like the constitution.

Default Civil Unreast... - 10-07-2002, 02:25 PM

I am proud of my fellow Kenyans that are rising up to the occassion and standing for what is rightfully theirs. The sacrifice that today's citizens of Kenya are making, will pave a new wave for generations to come!

I believe it is wrong for politicians on kanu/nak/rainbow not to discourage their supporters from interfering meetings called by their rivals. All it does is cause loss of innocent lives. Kanu and Rainbow/Nak politicians are using the man on the street as pawns. The sad thing is those being used cannot see this and the people who should know better are the ones fanning the violence and hatred while sitted at their safe havens.

My brother the wheels of change since the beginning of time have been propelled by great sacrifice. Had South Africa sat back in diplomatic discussions, apartheid would still be alive and well today. It would be absurd for everyone to die for the cause because no one would be left to propagate development. Every vessel has a crew. Each crew has a task. In Kenya's evolution into a democratic state, we have the visionaries (future leaders) and the soldiers (citizens who are willing to do whatever it takes to bring democracy). There is no luke warm zone in this fight for liberation. It's either you want change, or you accept the oppression! God Bless Kenya and God bless her people!

Which part of Kenya do you come from? You are like Moi who said the 4000 Kapsabet people who heckled him and told him to go away with the project were hired or transported to the venue, as opposed to the 2000 who listened to him. Something wrong might be going inside your heads.

John,

These supporters also access news from the press, radio etc. And because they are patriotic to their nation, they come out going against what they dislike.

These people have a high passion for politics. Some of them have said they are ready to pay the price of democracy even if it means being clobbered by the police. As I write this, there is a young handsome man in a pool of clotted blood in Kakamega/Kisumu border who was shot dead by the police simply because he showed support for the Rainbow Alliance.

Sincerely,
AW
AG, Kenya
