Default Kenyans and cell phones - 07-17-2002, 01:37 AM

Cell phones have hit here like there is no tomorrow. One problem:
Everyone has a cell phone, but nobody ever has credit.
What is up with that?

The ones who jazz me are the ones who operate two cell phones....probably both without credit....Ati one is for jobo and one personal...

And then what's this doze of going to a pub and ordering a drink with 2 glasses...When you are served, yu pur your drink in one glass and put your cell phone in the other glass...Ati so when it vibrates it doesn't shake the table pouring the drinks as it falls down...Sheesh! Folk need to style up.

There was a dude who flossed with his sana and entered the pub talking serious business...Why lie, you could have been impressed. He went ahead and sat down and continued with this high profile conversation dropping in big nmames here and there so that people on the table would know how connected he was. Unfortunately for dude, while he was talking, the cell phone actually rang....I think if the ground was open, it could have swallowed him...LMAO! Have never got over that one.

...And what's the deal with asking someone who calls you on the cell phone "How did you know I was here?" ... Duh!

"As long as people will accept crap, it will be financially profitable to dispense it."

The truth be told :It's hard to resist the temptation of owning a cell phone when one knows that they can afford it during the first few months. Just keepin'it real.

You can tell a person's mentality from the cell phone he carries

Where I was working in Kenya, I saw people buy cell phones with so many feature like WAP, voice dailer, infrared etc and all these features were of no use to them. But guess what, they cost extra. Some guy could barely handle the phone number list and recharge the phone and that was it.

A problem arose where one had invested the equivalent of two months salary on a cell phone but could not show it off hence the need for placing a tiny 8210 or T39 in a glass whereas it fits very well into a jacket pocket and vibrates when it wants your attention.

We Kenyans collectively need a lot of re-education so that we stop enriching Nokia, Pierre Cardin and DaimlerChrysler just becuase of our vanity

Seems like flossing is universal. ;)
I may be the only one in the world with no cell phone.
