Default EXCITEMENT of walking ,or running thru the streets of nrb - 07-15-2002, 10:38 AM

These days its disquieting to walk round town coz you never know when a rugged looking stranger might come up to you and show you a hand ful of waste and threaten to smack you with it and the only money you have is 20 bob to take you home so what do you do? walk home smelling fresh, or enter a mat smelling of a walking latrine? or even better run for your life!
what would you do?
me; i'd run run run like the wind and never look back.
But why has the beautiful city in the sun become "the waste smacking on you" city in the rubbish?
its a vicious cycle . these young boys (and girls) buy glue from some uncouth pple cheaply. why wouldn't they go through anything to get some more especially if they are addicted?
centres are there for them and more are needed because you find that this young boy sniffing glue next to you , if given the chance, could be the next Albert Einstein!

Default No excitement in nai .... - 07-15-2002, 12:34 PM

Not forgetting the women with vitungus and nyanyas arranged in pyramid like structures all over Moi Avenue and Tom Mboya streets … and if you trip and hit them goods then your kibeti is gone in a sec.

I wonder how the council can permanently get rid of this women!

It was, is and will always be the busiest hub in E.Africa. Remember what they used to say, if you wanna go to London, just go to Nairobi.
The next government should clean up Nairobi, perhaps privatize the council.

Nairobi will always be Nairobi. It has such characters. Thoughts of the hawkers makes me crack up. Anyway many of you have fathers who owned those noisy mats or refused to take a KBS because it was shady and that the loudest mat was the way to go. How many of you ate chips in a newspaper and then proceeded to through out those wrappings from a vehicle window. In one way or another we have contributed to the state that nairobi is in. Instead of complaining, start the change by looking at yourself. And if you think nai is bad, try Bombay.

hapana hawkers are not a problem...there is a new programme in KTN called TAZAMA, i enjoy it... i have just remembered an episode where the presenters where going round in Nairobi streets asking people 'what is corruption' it was hillarious. one hawker, most of you people are complaining about them, answered like , ' nasi corruption ni "SETE KANSO??" city council, i agree with her! i like hawkers
1. coz the bring the goods closer to the users, and most of all the make me laugh everytime they are on telly, either running helter skelter from the askaris,
2.when lamenting about their ordeals..... its always a comedy.
3. they are very aggresive business people, always ready to take a risk, of both life and stock.
4.humour, humour, listen to how their advertise their goods.... fotee bob(40 bob),ne fote kweriiii, etc!! suruali ya mama, iko na mu***o ya kuweka mobile!!!

Attittude,

>The streets, trees, are all dustful, trash >everywhere, dirty buses, smelly air...once puked >after the airplane I was traveling entered into >Kenyan airspace.
>How can you have fun walkin these streets >anyways?? Ughh

Is there something wrong with this M'ofo or not? that's some nose you got there! how high was this airplane? We surely could use some nose like that in dog section, and sniff all them drugs entering our Land.

Piptip,

>Not forgetting the women with vitungus and >nyanyas arranged in pyramid like structures all >over Moi Avenue and Tom Mboya streets … and if >you trip and hit them goods then your kibeti is >gone in a sec.
>I wonder how the council can permanently get rid >of this women!

To understand them, go and spend a day with them on the streets and feel thier pain. Do you think they come out there for fun? do you think they like being chased, beat on, thier greens being squashed and jailed? How dare you say they should get rid of them permanently like they are some kind of desease? I admire this women for thier gut's! the gut's to get out there and earn thier buck in a honest way. The gut's to go around the hardhips! something you won't probably do, cause it ain't your class, or your nails might get dirty, and here you are terming them as hawkers, seeing them as cheap, dirty and so forth to you they are of lower class. Had it not been for such Women, you'd have no food on your table unless you feed on gravel. Since you so special you can't work on a farm.

You wan't to keep the city clean? start from the top!. Why doe's it alway's have to be the common man?

Blame the system, and let the common Man Live!!!

Tottal Respect!! to all African Sista's and Bratha's out there!!
