Think ma friend, think! Think very hard! Ever had of extra-curricular activities such as the gym, movies, singles groups (in church and other positive organizations), concerts, travel to tourists sites etc. Get the yellow pages and you will be surprised to know there is something interesting perhaps even in your neighbourhood. Or go to school and do something with yourself that is productive, you will find school will keep you busy with projects and library research. Just think very hard and figure out what you would like to venture in (that is productive of course) and go for it. Ati drinking?......aaaaiiiii, yani people still do that? N'ways good luck.

Keeping it real ma peoples, keeping it real!

Something that has worked for me is playing Bball or racquetball. If you have never played before it will be a good learning opportunity.

Another thing that has already been suggested is reading. I am finding this to be a beneficial activity compared to watching the tube.

Hang out with your school mates too

You are not in Kenya anymore. Try and intergrate into the american society. If you want to hang out with only Kenyans you may as well save yourself the dramma. There are tonnes of Kenyans in Nairobi University, USIU, Baraton or wherever.
I dont know what your objectives are but try and encompass in activities that will further your objectives. e.g. if you are studying political science, find out who which political figures are visiting colleges around you ( most faculties invite important people from time to time) and organize with people from your class to go, things like that. If you are into swimming, join an intramural team or somthething like that. Anything to avoid alcohol addiction because once you get into the drinking groove it will require something serious that is a biproduct of your activities to get you out. You dont wanna go through that do you?

When I got tired of all the hengs I joined the local sailing club (relatively in-expensive $400/yr), and in within three months I had a whole new circle of friends that are active and healthy.
