Stupak, that's funny but I don't think it will work plus those things are too expensive. Toti, do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend? Maybe your love life is non-existence, finding a person to share your time with may solve your problem. Don't listen to the guys who are telling you to avoid other Kenyans. Being around Kenyans has it's advantages especially if you are new in the country. I hope you have heard the many tragic stories of Kenyans who come to this country and live in areas where Kenyans are scarce. You are lucky that there are Kenyans in your part of the country. It is natural to feel lonely when you move to a different country. It could be that you are just a little homesick, this will come to pass with time.

i feel you my sister/ brother. i was in your situation some time back and what i had to do was to try a new company over the christmas holiday so i took my legs to my aunt's and my uncle's and many could not understand why i preferred being with my family. my own sis in kenya just commented "how innocent." when i called her, but believe me i don't regret any moment spent there.
i discovered that the only thing that you can do is try to know more people out there, as many as you can and ensure that they should be people who you know would be there for you when you need them in times of problems,as these people that you have a drinking spree with 24/7 trust me 99% of them are just there for that purpose. try new activities as well. try to stay home when you normally go out to drink and watch a movie you have wanted to in a long time, ALONE!, believe me it feels good to be alone at times apart from the noisy surroundings. or try skiing as IB suggested, also skating, a gym, try meeting people who don't live to drink all their extra time, they exist!!!! trust me and sometimes it's fun to be with them more than the drunkards all the time. but don't throw your other friends coz you found others. you still share some common characteristics.
tried my best in answering you and best of luck in your search for the best decision you can ever make.

hehehe viloko he ain't alcoholic. anyway toti one thing alcohol will do to u is just mess u up. i know life here can be so lonely at tymes and i've been there too and maybe i'm still there but alcohol ain't the solution. what i usually do when i'm lonely is, since i love laffing alot(and i have a bad lafter 4 that matter), i surf the web for jokes, get some funny movies (coz if i get very romantic ones they make me more lonely):(. simply what i'm saying is just look 4 something to keep u busy and if u need someone to talk to pliz drop me a line.

Everybody-You've all been great in trying to advice me.To clarify some points,I am in school and I am a male. Most of the advice you have given me I am working on them already.I went for a two mile run today. The weather was great and right now I am waiting for some friends to call so that we can go to the gym together. As soon as I come into some money I am going to buy some used roller-blades so that I can scate around the park weather permitting. Please keep up the good work and if you think of anything else, let me know.
Toti.

Toti, how much was the TV?
Anyway since you are in school try attending the International Students Association and you will meet some cool people there. Also, usually they have pizza!

I figured that before it was too late....as of today...I can skii, skate, bowl, gone to the theater, hiking, camping, biking, sight seeing - america has very many places to go to and some are waiting to be discovered. And you know what...some of these activities are not even as expensive as boozing with your current buddies. And surprisingly if you ask people even other kenyans if you cant take the company of others they will agree to accompany you. Sometimes people just dont do things coz they have no company to do it with.
