I have been given some info on where to find my father, I was told he is from a part of Nairobi called, Waithaka. I would appreciate any information on this area of town. Rich, poor, middle class, etc.

Firstly, in Kenya theres is a vagueness with regard to the descriptions of class, because in areas like Waithaka you are going to find all 3 not clearly demarcated. Why you ask?

Waithaka is an area, that one can rightly classify as peri - urban, it has a representation of middle and low class, being that the plots are purchased, one is left to develop his own piece of property, so there are upper, middle and low income families, but generally i would rate it as higher lower class if I was to generalise the area just by looking at it.

If you are farmiliar with Nairobi, its actually on your way to dagoretti market, just after Kawangware. You access Waithaka at the turn opposite precious blood - riruta high school. Public transport - Route number 2 and 102. Or if you cant remember all this just asked to be taken to Dagoretti High School, thats the only place you can alight to access the school.

Am sure once there with the right descriptions and his name, you can work out where to find him in probably 2 days, especially with his family name (waithaka in many respects is more of a homogeneous community, though not 100%)

And just to add, If you have Google earth find Latitude: -1.279885, Longitude 36.713963
Thats the general area of Waithaka.
