Do you remember Fred Oyugi (wareda) he was a pro as far this kind of balls were concerned. Had a very good lefty and was a good ball dribbler.
Guys like Anthony Gakuhe, Alice Kimani (chair), the dad was the chairman of the PTA as well as a mdosi kwa Coke,Niko ( now a teacher in makueni) were fun to play and school with.
Man, I still respect and admire those great days gone by, they had there hardships but for those who overcame them I must say it was fun. Gari za safo (mkebe za kimbo) na the makeshifts from hangers (gari za wire) that had steerings!!!!!!
Remember riding old tyres while holding supporting sticks, with some clay and water (lubricant) inside?
The aftermaths!!!!!!! The face and clothes would be full of matope. Then there was ngari ngari, mbembeo, beta etc. Whover invented this means of "travel", alikuwa na kipawa.
Halafu kulikuwa na kamero, na city council staff that used to sweep the estates clean. Kulikuwa na wakufyeka nyasi, which we could invent for making huts or for maasama (somersault competions) within the estate.
Does any of this refresh your memory, give me a shout if it does.............
Nakumbuka hizo zote..... kuenda "hunting" tukiwa na feya na madogi... gari za mkebe na waya, bano, mpepeto, inter-estate soccer, walk-ins pale salem na jeri (akina tazama na mobile)... man there's just too many activities to list. And the good thing is that there were no adults involved... All those games were created and managed by kids. Those were fun times. Kids were very creative and active back then... I hope they still are.

If you were in 8R, you must have been in the same class with my buddy Kuria, Omesh, Gidi, Carol, Grace wambui (by the way Grace alienda wapi? na kuria je?). I know Kuria's dad had a mathree. Anthony gakuhe (Anto) bado yuko? I also remember Alice kimani, though I never saw here again after primo. By the way if you remember a chick called Rita kutoka uhunye karibu na kwakina Gidi, she's in the neighboring state. She's the only person from Uhunye primo i've met huku chambele.

Hola back if you have any info on Kuria. I think they used to live in outer ring estate.
