OMG...I did not grow up in Nakuru but I had a bunch of friends who were raised there and now I have no clue where they are...if you are on mashada, please drop me a line. Sorry, I have to spell out their names here.

Maureen Akinyi Osewe,
Jasmine Nzambu
Timothy Olweny (now Dr. Olweny),
Alex Kinuthia (now Dr. Kinuthia)& his brother
Patrick Kinuthia (one hell of a bright fellow)

If you or anyone you know has seen these fellows, please drop me a line, Tafadhali.

steve gichuki, Matibe, githae, billy sato, who can forget such talent. i think billy is arguably one of the best scrum-halfs. i was in nakuru high for 1 year. i still remember illusions, oyster, gilani's etc. then there was this shady joint we used to go to drink called gitwamba.

Was up peeps! I was born and brought up in Naks, went to Njoro Boys and Nakuru Day (91-94) then KU and now am a banker in Nai. I still travel to my sweet hometown frequently, guess what? Mats bado fare ni ashu (10 bob)!!

Guys, wasn't it fun living in Naks? Remember the jam session craze of the early 90's? Entrance was 30 bob at Coco which was hard to raise, but whoever missed could as well skive school on Monday. It was like a crime to miss out on Jam. Guys from Langa never used to panda mats, we would all line up every sunday afte ile njia ya stadi (Afraha)!

Then there was rugby, Njoro were the reigning champs for 3 years in a row. Though I didnt play myself, i lived in the same neighbourhood with Shparee and Tutu and that alone gave me milleage like nonesense.

Talking of cliques, there was this quoro of akina Nik, they used to sell clad in tao and they would set the pace for fashion.

Then there was a chicks quoro, akina Lilian Misati, Ann Atieno, Esther Mdinyo, Shiko Baibe.... I swear those langas had it.

Anyone who lived in Langa/Pangani/Freehold? Can someone hook me up with Imma, his Zak was the pastor at Filadelphia and the guy was just a thug! He was my guy to death.

Does anyone remember Pals club along Kanu Street in Langa? It changed name to Club Lules and General Deffao was performing there last sato. Entrance was 100/= but I hear they had to lower it to 50/= coz in Naks 100/= is big time money.

All mashadites in the diaspora, keep it real!

Hum
