Hi Eldians in the house,
Miss Eldy till death. Iam in sunny Carlifonia but it ain't anywhere close to the sat afternoon perched on 2nd floor white castle sipping baridis.Looking at the busy beatiful eldy. Iam planning a grand kukumbuka in Dec. I heard that BMWs and Lexus roam the streets of Eldy, I want to go and have fun one more time.

mentioning junction reminds me of crazy days in chep when guys after a few pilis in the student centre would suddenly decide to fika Sams-only there would be no mathrees at that time so we'd end up walking all the way to Junction or even further to hitch rides to town.We never bounced though(not with all those pickups moving from the farms -at one time we got a ride rom those trucks that transport tea leaves-remember how they have like open compartments)
we'd sometimes get to Sams sober and freezing after riding the pickups but we got there
I miss Eld big!

Where are all the Eldie folks from the 80's? UG Primary class of 79? Rift Valley Technical class of 83? Back in the day, Woodlouse, Wagon Wheel, Opera, Olympics kicked... And if you were the jukebox kinda person... 64 was it! BTW, does Kihuga Cinema still exist? Lengut? Trocadero?

was born there, attended Aga khan Nursery Sch, later on moved to UG for a min. before being shipped to N/Hills. Anyways, my family and biz. connections are still strong and firmly rooted in Ld. All my shopping were done in ld.
Juma Haji supermkt., Harji Kara (for my sch. uniforms), Leena Fancy wear, Dodia shopping center(for all the funny gadgets), Love Lincoln Hotel(planning to buy it one day, and do some massive renovation).Pauls' Bakery(what a loaf and cookies). Rai-Ply, Korosiot Hotel, this one spot, i think they used to call it sparks(some sort of a restaurant), Midland Cafe, Lengut, eldocenter, wagon-wheel, mwenderi. Loved, still love and damn miss the place.
to y'all ldians, am thinking of buying a hse. in Elgon-View. Roughly, how much are we talking about for a nice hse(I mean a really tough hse.). holla, and think it is about time ld is elevated to a city status. right?

Visited and loved it
We stayed at Sirikwa and went to Sam's. Classic Eldoret. Has a unique culture and environment. Eldama Ravine on the way there is beautiful and the Rift Valley is a sight.
At one point Eldoret was the fastest growing town in Kenya. At least it is cleaner than Nairobi.
It has preferred status as it is the President's hometown.
