Default Vote President Ondeng! Register here....    Show Printable Version  Print   Email this Page  Email

Kenya's parliament is a source of depression, entertainment, despair and buffoonery, all roled into one. Methinks the 10th parliament should be penned into the Guiness Book of World Records - for it is the only place you the world where your paid KShs. 800,000 to sleep, or even better, make a fool of yourself.

It's unfortunate that the patriots this country needs haven't the stomach for politics - yet these individuals can pull us out of the leadership quagmire we're wallowing in!

My choice for President is Pete Ondeng'.
This dude wrote the first book on small business (How to Start and Run your own Business) in the mid '90's, when government didn't give a crap about the little guy. It proved to be a source of inspiration to me, kind of like a business bible, when I joined the ever-growing mass of the unemployed after college.

Pete Ondeng ran an interesting column in the Nation, that was insightful in matters spiritual and leadership. On the 1997 presidential election, Pete Ondeng commented thus'
Quote:
This country is like a factory floor, besotten with filth. But instead of workers taking the initiative to pick up mops and brooms to clean up the floor, they all make a beeline for cushy managers posts.
Spot on description of our politicians, eh?

Mr. Ondeng was the brains behind Faulu, the microfinance giant that is run on solid Christian principles. I remember coz way back in the day where the most affordable bank account had a minimum balance of kedo 5K, Faulu gave some of us the foundation to be where we are today!

After trailblazing in microfinance, Pete Ondeng worked his magic at NEPAD.

His latest milestone is the Nyanza Economic Forum - an amalgamation of who's-who in Nyanza who've come together to influence policy, legislation and government and steer the region in the right direction.

Trust me, if this dude was at the helm, Kenya would become an economic superpower in a decade flat!

But alas, tis a dream.... sigh!

bloggeratti, this is a well thought out and researched piece.

I wish such Kenyans would contest elections and receive support?

Unfortunately, wishes are merely that, because if they were horses, beggars would ride as the saying goes.

Not going to happen; you are asking my brothers the LUOs to vote for a competent Luo beside that trash called Raila. Raila is a deity and as long as he is alive nobody else will be considered. As a matter of fact Luos will keep pushing Raila down peoples throats.Noble idea but keep dreaming
