You sound like moi in the 90's when he refused to give condom usage a backing because those who acquired HIV had "failed to live up to expectations of behavior society expected from those with upright morals". Moi refused to accept that people will continue having sex outside of marriage and at early ages and Kenyans were dying! Later on when the numbers were put on the table, reality kicked in and he gave the go ahead for the government to start sponsoring programs to popularize condom usage amongst other things.

This is not rocket science. "foreskin samples from uncircumcised, healthy men harbor less of the protective protein called keratin than other types of skin do. Moreover, the foreskin has high concentrations of cd4 t and langerhans' cells, the immune cells typically targeted by HIV. The concentrations were even greater than those in tissue from women's cervices, which are highly susceptible to HIV infection. When exposed to the virus in a lab dish, the foreskin cells took up six to nine times as much HIV as cervical cells did".
As much as circumcision does not provide 100% protection against HIV, it does offer some protection especially for the times when people are not careful enough to use a condom. This does happen even to highly responsible people! It is important to only have one partner and not be promiscuous but the truth is, people cheat on each other, and even more importantly attached to this issue, there's very few people who have not failed to use a condom at one point or another and for many, having that foreskin is like walking around with an hiv magnet.
Additionally, research was conducted and it did find that circumcision was 60% protective. It may not be 99% like condoms, but it is better than nothing and will save lives for that one time that humans will be humans and opt not to use a condom for one reason or another. Just so that you know, the research that was conducted was not just any regular old research. It was the gold standard double-blinded randomized clinical trial. In other words, the same type of research that determines most of modern medical science. So, if the first thing you do when you get sick is go to a Doc in a hospital and let them do whatever they can with your body to make it better, then I think your view is very hypocritical. It is true that medicine is not an exact science, but it is damn good and the closest to exact as humanly possible.
Please look at this issue rationally and with sobriety. It is not an issue of manhood and do not let jejune attempts by childish morons who think that because they ran around in a bush and had a piece of skin cut off from their penises made them adults. Adulthood comes with maturity of whatever is between your ears and not what was cut off from your penis. Anyone who disputes this is more lacking between the ears than between the legs.
