Obama faces crucial week on the world stage -- baltimoresun.com

"To a great degree, leaders around the world are watching what happens in the health care debate to see: Is this a president who can firmly lead and is firmly in command? Or is this a president who can be defied with impunity?"

There is nothing like president in the US being in command of anything. Kuna three equal branches of the govt. Being in command you find in dictatorships...
What is wrong with defying your leader if he does not espouse your values? I do not get it

I think what our spotted one means, Majes, is that Bamzy might find himself in situation similar to Emilio's Ringeera nightmare.

My cousin in the states says of republicans, " They are all rich, know each other and are white!"
Now these hombres didn't take it kindly to Bamzy snatching No. 1600 from them, and they've undertaken some pretty dirty tricks to discredit Old Satellite Years. Like the Birthers for instance.

So here comes the Bamz with a healthcare reform bill, one of the pillars of his campaign and the republicans have a chance to throw a spanner in the works. Pray tell, Majes, ain't that a make or break situation?

I've been following the healthcare debate on CNBC's Meeting of the Minds and CNN's Political Mann. One thing comes to the fore from both programmes: the slurs the republicans are throwing at Bamzy's Health Care bill are absolute hogwash.

True. The bill needs to be tweaked here and there. Fine. The rich see their footing of the poor's health bill as "communism". But overall, it ain't that bad. Unfortunately, Americans aren't particularly bright and are bound to miss the Republican's hidden agenda.

Which means, in a nutshell, that they have Wuod Kogelo's gonads in a vice!

If it was Hillary that won, they would have treated her even worse. I cannot forget how they treated clinton in 1994. I do not think anyone would have thot that he would get a second term later.
I am not made at the rich. The rich are the ones who create jobs. some of the poor are the ones who would break into cars, homes..people should just focus on the healthcare reform, but now I think it is more about healthcare insurance reform than anything else.
Rich people have made this world a better place! Wealth is gud!

Default myths

point of correction...blogeratti.

You say republicans are all rich.right?Myth.Actually democratic party is constituted of richer folks than republicans-google the statistics and you will be able to bust the myth yourself.

True in republican support base has a good # of white folks that own cos, but not as many as democrats-I guess because of democratic states are mostly rich edu rich states-new england, cali(lean DP).

The problem is RP has hijacked/brainwashed the poor/country republicans folks into thinking they're rich/own companies. So if you look at those town hall meetings who shout the most, they are poor/working white folks, who will be shouting the loudest obama want to spread wealth.I am surprised by the level of brainwashing or how do you explain a poor white folks who'd benefit most from obama health care having the most shrill voice against health reforms...

Someone has to bring all that economic gibberish to a language we can understand, and no one does it better than blog.

As for rich Republicans, maybe the proper term is "Capitalists." They will defend their wealth at all costs. And Obama will fight all his political life trying to distance himself from the socialist/communist tag.

I stand corrected. Never been to the states actually...maybe my cousin and I have been influenced by the cliched portrayal of republicans on telly.

Like Desperate Housewives, for instance.
A character called Bree Vanderkamp is the model republican. Wealthy, conservative, polished in a country club kinda way.
So conservative is she that when her hubby tries to go down and perform fellatio on her she quips, "No. I don't do that darling, I'm a Republican!"

Thanks bruh, point taken.
