Default Mass action = Mob Psychology: Kenyan Election Violence - 07-05-2008, 05:24 AM

Crowd psychology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

*Mob has great influence over individual.
*Mob has extreme behavior than a typical individual.
*Deindividualization-the loosening of normal constraints on behavior when people are in crowd, leading to an increase in impulsive and deviant acts.
*Mob gives a sense of anonymity.
*Mob gives a sense of guiltless
*Individuals think that they cannot be singled out and evaluated.
*Encourages a diffusion of responsibility for actions taken. It is the groups fault as well as the individual. Social influences, norms, values, and self-conscious breakdown.
*Every member adheres to the norms of the group that are at variant to established individual and societal norms.
*Mob has increased energy and more destructive.

When politicians are calling for mass action, they are changing an individual to a mob thinker, making killers in the process, looters, property destroyers
