Default Who gd enough to replace kimunya - 07-03-2008, 09:04 AM

i agree kimunya made a mistake but he has also done a great job at the treasury to be honest and if we are all sincere the is no one in parliament or even at treasury (MPs) is good enought to replace kimunya. dont even say Dr oburu ondinga, what has done to deserve the post. is he good enough? you may say he is adoctor but i dont think so. as much as the MPs are hating the should pay taxes but unfortuantely its them to pass the amendent to pay. wt a shame, and they say they are potraying transparency and representing the views of kenyans. we want them to pay taxes we do so why not them. so the mps! you should pay taxes thats what we want.

If the likes of Orengo are that clean why don’t they give directions to Kenyans as how they are going to pursue the issue of paying taxes.
We all know how that taxation bill would have fared in the House. It’s rather cheap to argue that it’s mainly ODM MPs who don’t want to pay taxes. Less than five MPs have staked their necks to argue that MPs should be taxed like everyone else. Remember both PNU and ODM blocs have about 100 MPs each. And the captain of the tax-free world, that cowboy Khalwale, is PNU-allied.

Whether on instructions from above or not, Kimunya blundered. He knows the rules and the law. He is also subject to them.

If we let Khalwale and company off the hook, we will be the same old fools they have known us to be. Smart politics is: Let them sort out Kimunya then we go back to the taxation thing. We get double results with half the effort.

Have you ever been told “Hiyo utaambia Magistrate?”

Default Kimunya spares no one - 07-07-2008, 02:36 AM

Kimunya said yesterday said that CBK governor, NSIS boss and himself were being fought because of their efforts to stop schemes by politicians who wanted to bring in money illegally from abroad and others wanted him to pay pending bills to cowboy contractors.

other politicians were unhappy because he stopped their plans to start forex bureaux and banks for 'monkey business'.
