Default KTN/Standard on its death bed. - 05-17-2008, 12:08 AM

Yeah. They are paying the price of ignoring common sense and focusing on partisan issues.

Read their piece of crap here.

Does managerial changes always happen when an organzation or business is on its deathbed?

I realise that patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone.

KwG, have you ever heard or seen those people who go round mongering about how someone is on their deathbed only for you to meet that person alive and kicking. Well, wamax74 is belongs to these group of mongers or should I say mongrels.

Besides managerial changes, the standard prior to that, recently acquired a new state-of-the-art printing press, and are now putting-up their new ultra modern building on Mombasa Road where the whole operations of the Company will be shifted to, from the I&M building. As you can see these are very loud signs that the Standard is dying, at least according PANUA people.

As much as I may dislike an organization or business, I feel and think it is good to have facts as to such a statement in the thread. Standard may have their own internal issues, certain section of the public may have issues with their media strategy and way of broadcasting or reporting - but the link given in the thread does not indicate a business on its deathbed.

Wamaz74's is simply a hate campaign against The standard.

Missed Call pay attention!

An Indian business mogul once said that "as an employee one must love their job but avoid falling in love with the company/ organization."

Employees in an organization come and go. It is always an individual's choice stay on or move on. Mobility of an employee from one organization to another normally depends on many other factors which in many a case must conspire to induce the thought of departure.

Most organizations these days are trying to introduce many other benefits (i.e. insurance, cars, annual vacation trips, house rents amongst other allowances) as opposed to giving out fat checks as means of keeping the employee. If an employee feels these may satisfy his/her needs, he may not move; there is also the issue of rapport amongst employees and their seniors. Is it an organization where an employee's input is unvalued or ignored? Is the boss dictatorial or displays sound leadership policies and offer guidance as opposed to perpetual admonishment? Is the work environment discriminatory?

What matters is whether the company is able to fill in the vacant positions with professionals in total disregard of tribal prejudice like the Nation Media has been/is doing; take care of the employees welfare. I think The standard Group has performed exemplary considering that KANU nearly ran it down once.

The problem with standard is instead of writing news, they try to think for the reader and force only one point of view. Just because I dislike it does not mean it will die.

I just hope that Kenya Times takes the opportunity and fills the gap for an objective and non partisan newspaper.

Kenya is dying because of negative reporting, negative ethnicity and negative politics.
