Have you noticed that oginga ondinga sons raila and oburu are occupying the best treasury building offices almost next to one another and kimunya was asked to vacate his office for raila? why do the two brothers seem to have taken a special liking for this particular building? can we read more between the lines? and why is nobody saying anything about raila appointing his brother finance assistant minister - if kibaki had appointed even one of his close friends let alone his own brother to such a position would the public not have risen up in arms accusing him of nepotism? double standards should end in kenya.

If the statements by assitant ministers in the last govt are anything to go by, then Kimunya is the main guy and Oburu will only be doing petty errands - Kalembe and Kiunjuri knows this better

I do not agree with you on that.

One: This government is not the "last government" and most of those assistant ministers in that last government are long gone.


Two: A man of Dr.Oburu Odinga's stature is not there to do errand duties. He represents ODM's scrutiny on the use of finances and one thing is clear. For the first time since independence, the minister of finance will never be seen as a priviledged thief among many.

The era of looting is gone.

And by the way acdemically where are those former errand boys placed - Kilembe and Kiunjiri?

You are right, but you should have read the irony in the statement.

As for Kalembe and Kiunjuti - Kalembe is somewhere may be trying to sell his TIP but Kiunjuri is an assistant minister who seems not satisified with what he got, he was quite categorical he was fit for a ministerial position.

Let us get a few things straight here.

To start with Oburu Odinga bears the title (Dr.) while Kimunya is a mere (Mr.), that should tell you something about experience, competence and qualifications. Secondly, Dr. Oburu is an experienced economist and served in the Ministries of Finance and Planning for decades rising to seniority.

Kimunya may be a qualified accountant and a golfing buddy of H.E., but his 2+ years at the helm of the Ministry of Finance has already produced the tribal rot and financial impropriety that will take Kenya to the gutter.

Oburu is there to keep a watchful eye and ensure that things are done right!
