Default Constitution: After next elections no MP should be named Minister/Assistant minister - 04-23-2008, 04:10 PM

Kenyans should opt for Ministers to be non-MPs but the president, PM and VP must be MPs during constitution amendment/overhaul coming soon.
This will allow for professionals/experts for the various ministries with young blood from all over the country..Let politicians be left to politiking

Native son,

Why is it you concur that dunder head MPs should not be ministers, but in the same breathe dunder President, VP should have executive authority? It works well in UK, Germany and almsot all of Europe. At the same time dunder head president and clever minister ala USA also works well, right?

My take is that it is not the people, but as Raila put it, the instituttions that are weak. Fix institutions and as Kamotho said, even a dog will not have a problem running them. It is our institutions that are weak and run-down. They only answer to an imperial presidency and that is easily abused.

Checks and balances is the key phrase here
