Default Six killed as matatu rolls - 05-12-2008, 06:22 PM

Six killed as matatu rolls Published on May 13, 2008, 12:00 am

Six people died in a road crash on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway after a matatu hit a cyclist and rolled several times.

Seven other passengers were injured and are fighting for their lives at the Naivasha District Hospital.

"Our vehicle was speeding. We heard a bang and then screeching brakes," said Pauline Njeri, a student at a Nakuru secondary school who was among the survivors.

The accident caused a major traffic jam on the highway, resulting in other minor accidents.

In one incident, a truck reversed into a Nairobi-bound matatu, but no one was injured.

Besides road transport, air transport needs to be controlled, and procedures put in place on how our national leaders travel, just like coporate laws that prohibit ANY two key coporate officers travelling in the same plane. We should not have our leaders travelling in rickshaw / makeshift aircrafts and mostly no key ministers shold be flying in the same plane at the same time.

Over to you Hon. Mwekere

there is a lot of talk about who should do this,..that..... all this is utter nonsense read the scriptures or if u r muslim follow the the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said:

‘He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do that, then he should do it with his tongue; and if he has not strength enough to do even that, then he should (at least abhor it) from his heart; and that is the least of faith.”

Sahih Muslim Hadith 79 Narrated by Abu Sa’d al Khudri
