enyewe

those profiles from graduates.com must be wrong I don't see someone graduating high school in 1999/2000 and being only 20 years old in 2008.

The story does say they are 20 years old. An apology is in order and pull this profiles out immediately.

Default God please, deliver us from our tribalism - 04-25-2008, 03:52 PM

While the story in this posting is somehow newsworthy, the poster's headline and most of the responses that follow are outright hateful, inflammatory, rude, malicious and condescending, to say the least.

It's a mazing how soon we Kenyans forget what tribal hate can lead to. We are screaming for each other's blood before we are even finished mourning the 1,000-plus lives lost.

To say that all Kikuyus are bad because three of them are suspected of a crime is the highest form of tribalism and bigotry I have ever seen. How do you even know that the three are Kikuyus?

I've just learned that the people suspected of kidnapping and murdering a relative of mine in Kenya last month were a Luo and a Luhya, but I'd ne so ashamed to say that based on that information all Luos and Luhyas are murderers.

We all have people of other tribes who have done us more good than even some of our family members.

I think this posting and most of the comments that follow are a test of how serious Mashada moderators are in enforcing the new rules that are meant to keep this forum a civil place.

I didn't expect this to come from you, Dr. Rage. Based on that incident last year, I thought you would know the pain mistaken identity causes to people.

These are very common Kenyan names and you shouldn't have posted these profiles. The last one is not even in the U.S. and that makes me feel sorry for the poor guy.

Dr. Rage when are you gonna grow up.? You must be proud that you can hide
behind a keyboard posting all nonsense you can. I hope the disappointment and anguish you have caused these profiled poor guys from graduates . com come to haunt you big time. Listen to the mashadians and their disapproval of your childish and barbaric profiling.

We have a big problem in Kenya - that of stereotyping tribes and always forgetting the underlying issues. Despite many thefts and robberies having been committed largely by Kikuyus, there has been an increasingly number of offences committed by people from other tribes across the country. Looking at the frequent lists of "most wanted criminals" posted by Police, the names of teh hardcore criminals spread across tribes

Rather than stereotype, we should address the issue or lay blame on individuals and not where they come from or their tribal affiliations

I realise that patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone.

This sort of stereotyping has led to the irrational fear of Kikuyus by some people. Having spent time with them I can tell you that most of them are not anything close to being dangerous.

Those guys siphon gas? They should have passed through mlolongo before going to states so that they learn how to do it discreetly.
