Default RAILA WILL BE IN TROUBLE SOON: If... - 03-07-2008, 06:44 PM

Ever since Raila became Prime Minister I am just holding my breath. Something is brewing from the ground in ODM and I don't think Raila is really paying attention. Raila will be in trouble soon if:

1. He does not immediately stop taking photos of him laughing with Mwizi Kibaki. Those photos turn the stomachs of anybody in the ODM camp including moderates. If you have to meet Kibaki, leave the cameras out. Kusema ukweli nobody really wants to see you and Kibaki together (PNU and ODM).

2. He does not recognize that ODM and PNU are two different parties. Raila seems to have forgotten that he has a party to lead and that party is not ODM-PNU coalition. ODM people have never and will never accept PNU.

3. He does not tour ODM areas soon to tell people what the F. he is doing. We understood when the negotiations were going on that he had to be in Nairobi to negotiate. But now, what about going from Mombasa to Wajir to Nakuru to Eldoret to Kakamega to Kisumu to just do a briefing with ODM delegates? Raila seems to forget that he is not the only ODM leader. Other of the ODM areas have not yet seen their leaders in leadership positions. They still feel cheated out of the election!

Remember, the signing of the documents has not helped soothe the hatred against kikuyus in clash areas. In fact it is very reckless of anybody right now to advise IDPs to go back, security or no security. The underlying issues were never solved especially now that Kibaki has "half" of what he stole.

My advise to Raila is this. Keep those ODM pentagons very close with you at all times. Wherever you go be sure that they are accompanying you, especially if its meet-the-people tour! ODM must keep looking united because Kibaki can never be trusted.

Thank you
Sophie

sophie raila is not that stupid to expose himself to all those mungiki's who were transported to kisumu, rift valley and western on pretense of police reshuffles and nys mungiki trainees!! kenyan odmers understand the safety of their leader is of importance and i don't think they want him out there paka amalizee mambo nairobi!! nope raila will stay in nairobi for now!! in any case he went to a rally in kibera and thanked his supporters!!and you should have seen the happiness please watch!!

sophie- i think raila is doing the right think by holding discussions with kibaki and not giving the hardliners like martha karua and her cronies not get int he way of the deal!!kenyan's are very intelligent (odmers) are watching closes and they prefer raila to have his pm postion fully before touring the country!!i'm surprised that you even suggested for raila to start traveling around kenya without a mandent or portfolio!!! odmers surpport him 100% - other mp's in odm are already out there !! video - kenya:raila tours kibera. - kenya

Zanzie of course I understand that. But the common man in other non-luo but pro-ODM areas do not have access to the net like I do, they rely on those pictures they see on Standard Frontpage.

It would have been nice for Raila to bring akina Ruto, Ngilu, Balala, Mudavadi, Nyaga, Ntimama etc along (or maybe two of them) for the Kibera tour. ODM should appear united more than ever so that people can "accept" the half-democracy. The way he wants to appear United with Kibaki is the same way he should make a greater effort to appear United with other ODM leaders.

sophie - there is so much going on here - night and day- some odmers have to travel to talk to their people but for safty purposes - you don't see- people in the grass -roots even western where i have family and they have been informed of the agenda and why raila aint traveling!! kisumu ida and the area mps have done the ground work!! sophie odmers are not fools- and thier people are well informed even in the grass -roots they don't need a computer and they have learned not to believe in anything that is shown on t.v- the organizers- (election ) are still in place passing on information to their people just the same way they were told to wait on things like mass action?? how did the once in villeges without t.v's know!!
trust in raila and his mp's i'm sure what they are doing is for the best interests of their supporters!!
