Default Raila: Why call for Mass Action? Our people are hungry, jobless, homeless! - 02-26-2008, 03:47 AM

I know the thinking of our beloved Raila. Kenya cannot be like the Kiev orange revolution. Those people were rich and and had a roof over their head.
How can we come out for mass action when our mothers and wives are being eloped in Kisumu by matatu touts?
How can we come for mass action when we only have energy just to see us through the day because we are not assurred of each days full meal?
How can we come for mass action when nobody seems to care for us after we voted overwhelmingly for you?
How can we go for mass action when all you told us was just lies-taking and invading other people's houses, not paying rent etc?
There reaches a time when we say enough is enough? Sometimes humleness pays.
Why should we fight and have been fighting and have been with you and yet evry five years our votes seem to go to waste because of you taking the wrong side of the equation.
Our forefather Was in Kenyatta's government. You and him were in Moi's gava. You were in Kibaki's government also?
Are we as a community the problem or there is a prblem with the dynasty? Do we need to look father? You have all the good qualities but judgement and companion and ego sets you on the wrong path.

Thank you Mr Raila for calling off the mass action. It would have been a shame calling for mass action but nobody is turning up because of the reasons given herein.

I do not think you live in this world. My friend, the tension in Kenya is petrol. There is a general feeling that the talks must end and end like yesterday. There are numerous kenyans who would die just to be on Raila's side for the good fight. Saying that nobody would turn out for mass action is an understatement.

He should not back up then if he believes that it is going to serve the purpose. Unlike in other democracies, Kenyan look at it as if they are each others enemies and that is not how it should be. You and I are exchanging our views here. Should I meet you anytime, you will be a good friend of mine. Views (in politics) should not make me be your enemy whatsoever. I come from Luo land and a Luo by ethnicity and I know that you are a Kikuyu supporting Raila. To me that is healthy. As long as we have "yes politicians" we will have trouble. I have lived among many different Kenyans but I see all as my equals in all aspects. Issue of "petrol" is a politician's frigement.

Default Spoken like a true patriot - 02-27-2008, 11:17 AM

Jatelo,

You've spoken like the "Kapenguria Six" all put together.

However, due to constant (negative) ethnic indoctrination by our leaders, its hard for politics and logic to go together.

I think the biggest impediment in Luo Nyanza is Raila's stranglehold on the region. If a political icon, however magnanimous, does not deliver, it is wiser to move on. Otherwise, voices of reason are reduced to sycophantic mouthpieces, mere shadows in the wake of a tribal chieftain.

If the same were happening among PNU supporters today, Kenneth Matiba would still be a force to reckon with!

Though it earned me some choice epithets from ODM-ers, I repeat my sentiments that PLO Lumumba is presidential material. I doubt he'd want to be reduced to a tribal chieftain, but the man has it all (character, intelligence, eloquence, charisma) to bear the presidential flag!

I agree with you. Anyone (politicians included) and anything (east african standard/the standard etc that is causing one group to rise against another in Kenya should be marginalized. People should stand up against their own people and tell them that enough is enough. Politicians are like vegetables. They have a shelf-life after which they cannot do anything meaningful to the community politicalwise. If we attach our lives to their shelf lives then we will perish when they perish at the expiry of their shelf-lives.
Why don't other developed democracies not have ethnic clashes. It looks like the bulk is in Africa. We listen to BBC and others telling us what to do.

my name says it all....! no food now,no jobs .no school for our kids,no orphanages in kisumu/kibera coz we burnt it all ourselves. Are we going to blame kifaki as we replay what we did in kisumu? Now we are suffering in hunger with no energy to demonstrate. Please Raila sell your hummer and use that money to build at least a school in kisumu for std 1 pupils who dreamt of a future with education not Phd in looting and burning.
