The Guilty Conscience:Kenya Police brutal actionsPrintEmail
Dear Admin,
Going by the heavy handedness that the Kenya Police have handled some of the most recent events be they demonstrations (Limuru, Eastleigh), fire accidents or any other unfortunate incidents, I notice some reactions that are consistent with a disorganized force that could be acting under duress, disjointed actions, brute force and hard to comprehend manner of execution of orders be they legitimate or not. Could these actions be a roll-over from the previous covered-up atrocities, inconsistent command structure that is now manifesting in the way the Police officers have reacted? Are our Formed Security forces working under pressure driven by insecure Commanders? Could these actions be the fear from prosecution if the Commanders are in that famous "sealed Waki envelope"? I have been in the Forces but what I notice is either a campaign to further disenfranchise the Kenya people and make them more angry, provoking mass actions directed at the Goverment to resent the authorities much further or to discredit an already fast collapsing Coalition Goverement. I think it is high time to change the Command structure of the Forces, Police and fire some corrupt Ministers, let's get the views from other Bloggers. Thank you.
