Ni ukweli. Northern NH is very rural and leans republican. But the republican from New england is not the Alabama republican. We really hate Bush. Southern NH is full of Massachusetts immigrants and colleges and alot of high tech corporations especially around portsmouth, exeter and Salem. Maccain will totally be blown out of the park in Maine and NH. Indiana will be close but after the primary where Hillary was shocked by her .7% win, I wont be shocked if Obama carries it. Indianapolis is like an extension of Chicago. Missouri also borders Illinois so that will be close too. In short, I feel good tonight.

Fox news threw the kitchen sink at Obama, am gon watch them boil in their bile tonight.

The moment Obama passed an electoral college count of 200 without California, Oregon and Washington reporting results, it was only politeness that prevented people from saying Next Presidente del Statos Unidos!!!

On CNN, they tried to add up as many "toss-up" states in McCain's favour as they could, they could not draw up a scenario where he could win. I went back to bed at 5:40am Kenya time. With a smile on my face.

Those of you who know America from first-hand view will know that it's beyond incredible for a Democrat from a minority to win: Indiana (u kiddinnnnngggg????), Florida (whaaaaattt???) and North Carolina (wake me up, I'm tired of this dream, this can't be real, my broda).

Has anybody spotted that carazy imbalance of the vote in the District of Columbia (3 electoral votes): Obama won 92% to 8%. Who lives in DC, is it the politicians or akatas?

DC has mostly akatas and a mixture of immigrants who are mostly Democrats. Most of the capitol hill politicians live in MD or VA.

God bless president elect Barack Obama. Am so excited for Obama and his family!!

As of 11:25am Kenya time, approx midnight east coast USA, Missouri is the only undeclared state, Why? Both Barack and McCain are running @ 49%. The final closing centres of Hawaii and Alaska have been shared between the two.

A few months ago, someone wanted to castrate Obama. Look at him now: -

I hadn't paid close attention, but yes, NC is also too close to call at Obama 50% and McCain 49% with 99% vote in. It has a whopping 15 elec coll votes, Missouri has 11. I guess they'll have to wait for 100% before they commit.

North Carolina is 50/50 for Obama & McCain respectively with 100% precincts reporting.

More precisely, 49.64% to 49.40% in favour of Obama.

They're still not calling NC and MO. I've gone to the blogs in desperation for some info

Quote from Daily Kos: State of the Nation
Now, after all the votes have been counted, it came down to a measly ... 11,246 vote difference out of almost 4.2 millions votes cast. North Carolina follows Virginia and joins the chorus of states longing for change. North Carolina is officially Tarheel blue.

....UPDATE 2: NC Board of Elections claims 100 of 100 counties are reporting BARACK OBAMA the winner of NORTH CAROLINA by 11,246 votes! A win is a win, even one by 0.27%!

UPDATE 5: Yet another diary on the subject. Commenter surmises the closeness is triggering a recount.

UPDATE 6: A-ha! BoE vote detail webpage shows absentee & one stop (early) votes are included, but that no (well, a whopping 7) provisional ballots are in the current totals. That there is the hold up. I'm guessing election employees are having a long night of validating and counting provisional ballots by hand. NC likely won't be official until tomorrow.

UPDATE 7: WXII (Winston-Salem) calls it for Obama...Seems a little early since the Board of Elections themselves aren't doing so.

UPDATE 8: For those that aren't in NC, it was rainy both here and in VA all day. This caused wet ballot issues in places where people had to stand in the rain before voting, as wet ballots were jamming the optical readers in places. They eventually fixed these issues, but it had to result in some add'l provisional ballots. Regardless, there has to be more than 7 provisional ballots that were deemed accepted in the entire state!

NC is tipping towards Obama, and MO is tipping towards McCain.

The final tally can be assumed: Obama 364, McCain 174.

I think that's an official landslide.

Popular vote: 52% to 47% for Obama, 5% diff, not so big.
