Default Kenyans students caught stealing gas in atlanta - 04-17-2008, 05:50 PM

This story is just too funny, lol so sad coz i know how it sucks to be broke as a college student 11alive.com - college students caught siphoning gas marietta -- three college students face theft and obstruction charges after being caught siphoning gas from cars parked at the silver creek apartments on roswell road. Police said the three suspects -- kevin gitonga, ted mbaya and george mwangi -- committed the crime during the early morning hours tuesday with only two tools -- a garden hose and a gas can. By the time a resident spotted the trio stealing gas, they had already emptied the tanks of five vehicles using a dangerous method. "they put the garden hose down into the gas tank down into the gas itself. The dangerous part of this is you actually have to suck on the garden hose to get the gas flowing," said marietta police spokesman mark bishop. Police said when they arrived at the scene about 4:30 a.m., the three suspects ran. An officer shot one with a taser. All three were taken into custody. Only gitonga had been released from jail by thursday. At a nearby convenience store, a driver who had to put more than $100 worth of gas into his truck said he can see the motive clearly. "when you have a commodity that's worth something as much as gas is now, i can see why people would want to steal it," he said. The driver added that the contents of his gas tank were probably worth more than the contents of his wallet. Officer bishop concurred. "given the current situation with gas prices and the fact that they're continuously going up, this is something i expect to see more of in the future." bishop said the three suspects likely targeted the apartments because they are packed with cars. So sad!! That crime is now on their record 4 lyf: from now henceforth they'll always have to check that box, "have u ever been convicted of a crime" when applying for jobs, etc. I dunno, but the one on the left kind of resembles poko hunter, I hope it's not him!!

Quite unfortunate.

The dude on the extreme left is a member of that Kenyan-ATL "rap" group "Nabado".
