@ Matumbo..I guess I was just trying to find Military buddies.
I was mainly looking for Kenyans in the Marine Corps or other Kenyans in the Military (Airforce,Navy,Army). They however prove to be rare. Was hoping to talk to those that have enlisted - specially in the Marine Corps. I am joing OCS (Officer Candidate School).

flipaz - do you wanna be a soldier or do you just want the "Ndege" training?

Make sure you know the answer to that before you decided to sign those enlistment papers.

What do you mean - I am not sure how to go about it -

I presume you are either a citizen or a permanent resident.

You have talked to an Airforce Recruiter about - CROSSING INTO THE BLUE (Airforce)

-------------------FYI--------------------------------------------------
The Marine Corps air force is the fifth largest in the entire world, and the most elite. Naval aviators fulfill an essential part of the Marine Corps mission. Oprimary objective is to clear the way for our ground troops.

The Path to Aviator
Whether you enter the Corps through Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) or Officer Candidate Class (OCC), your next step is always The Basic School. Aspiring naval aviators then proceed to Pensacola, FL, where they complete the initial stages of flight training. Classes include topics such as meteorology, aerodynamics, engines and navigation. At this point flight training becomes specialized and focuses on one of two career paths: pilot or flight officer.

Marine Pilots
After completing up to 16 months of military pilot training at flight school in Pensacola, FL, you'll be assigned to an aircraft based on your performance and the needs of the Marine Corps. Whether you fly a fixed-wing or rotary-wing, you'll be at the controls.

Naval Flight Officers
You will continue specialty flight training for 8 10 months in Pensacola, FL, in order to master navigation, radar, on-board computer control and electronic warfare measures. Once assigned to an aircraft, you'll master the onboard systems and be trained to analyze all information collected to ensure mission success.

Default RE: KENYANS - MARINE CORPS OR OTHER MILITARY BRANCHES?

Of course there are soo many Kenyans in the Marine core ,the right question should have been........Is there any sector Kenyans havent been sighted?

But i think the other guy told you the truth.....Dont sell your soul for some Chump Change !!!! Honestly i dont see how you left home to join the marines, airforce, navy,SWAT, whatever!

Remember one thing,do what you think is right, die for what you believe in and right now,i believe you are in your early twenties you are a target of recruitment, coz they,ve fallen short of new recruits!!.With a promise for endless paradise when you join, but youll learn quickly coz That will end when you find yourself being shipped across the seas to fight a war you have absolutely NO PART of.Now thats dumb !!!
And by the way its Not the MArines the few the Proud.......!!!!Its more like...The Marines,The broke<the naive!!!

Ati umetoka home kuja hapa kujoin marines....afadhali niende nyumbani niwaone wazazi niwasaidie...and by the way..its true a Kenayn Chic in the Navy sijui Army was pushed off a building coz some Red necks in the Army couldnt see how a foreigner can give them orders/pata cheo..!!!Very sad indeed! Sometimes i d rather i die after drinking silly than die like that!!!!

sosodef – Much respect to your strong opinions.

Joining the Marine Corps (not MARINE CORE) is not the solitary mission in my life. There is also no “selling of souls for chump change”. I have other things on my list – that just so happens to be one of the many.

I am neither a naïve teenager, nor one that has been brainwashed by a recruiter.
Not everyone can be a soldier; the military is not for everyone. If it is not your thing – move on. Leave those that want to join/already enlisted to do their thing.

dudette – In response to your question. I am not sure where I will be based. I am planning on going into OCS. Is your friend enlisted or in Officer Candidate School?
