Draft Constitution: Powerless President and PM -
10-06-2002, 03:26 AM
Ghai's Constitution is similar to India's Constitution. Every year Indian parliament votes out the current prime minster (Vote of Confidence) , this is because all powers are vested on the Parliament. The parliament has been bestowed with excessive powers that make the state ungovernable. Every now and then there is a vote of no confidence. Elections are held so frequent that regular citizens rarely participate.
We should draft a constitution that gives the president enough powers to rule and not to be dogged by MPs. MPs should be representatives of people and not power strugglers.
