iPhone scores low marks in review.

I always thought i was so far behind technology wise since i don't own an iphone. well untill today when i saw its review in the fortune magazine.

first the most embarrassing thing about the iphone is its low battery life "A couple of hours of Google Maps over 3G and you'll be lost in the woods without even the possibility of phoning for help. Compare that to the good old days when your phone would last a week without charging"

Then there is poor call quality "Call quality on the iPhone is pathetic, and it's mostly because of the tiny speaker. It has to be aligned with your ear canal with the accuracy of a laser-guided ninja doing cataract surgery, or else the volume cuts down to nothing as the sound waves bounce uselessly around your ear shells"

The article concludes that the iphone is only good when used as a hand held computer NOT a phone. Who owns an iphone? are these allegations true or just the work of competitors? for now i'll be glad to stick to my omnia.

Nokia is up to something because they allege that Apple stole their intellectual rights. If their allegations are true, then they are up to something better. Lemmi check the specs of X6.

Some article I read elsewhere advised that Americans better wait for the 4G smart phones because Apple's iphone is just but a mess.

i own the Motorola CLIQ (Blur). IT's a 3G phone. It's a new phone. I've owned it for only two weeks.

It's a very good phone.

HOwever, as you allege, the battery life is crap. My old phone-I've had it for 6 years- has a battery life like no other. Despite its umri, I can go for four days without charging it. if i don'tuse it, a lot, a full battery will take me for close to a week. This CLIQ phone can only go for 2 days and that is without a lot of surfing on the net. Yes, it's very good as a palm computer, not as a phone.

I also have a problem of calling people without my knowledge. In other words, since it is a touch phone, one inadvertent touch and you call someone without your knowledge. I have also sent text messages to the wrong people three times.

That said, I still like it for other things. It keeps me updated.

I don't know about the iphone.

Sadly, yes. I have a jail broken iphone and i dont even use it for calls. Without all the apps, there is nothing much to it. Remove the availability of internet, it becomes just another useless gadget.

Though i must say, it has good camera and video capabilities and it if u have the correct apps.

I love my Iphone. The only issue was getting use to texting on a touch screen. That I am still not use to because you can't multi-task and text. I could just feel for the buttons, but now I actually have to look at the screen. It keeps me from texting and driving though

As for the charge, that doesn't bother me any. I don't go any where that doesn't have access to electricity. I just charge it as I am sleeping or in the car lighter. The charge is no better or worse than my old blackberry. I think I ruin batteries all the time anyway

No one has mentioned any issues with my voice on calls. I will have to ask when I am talking to people.

What exactly does it do? You can't hear them or they can't hear you? I have no issue with hearing anyone either.

I can't hear them. It's an issue resulting from the jail break.

On a side note, don't text and drive. Don't even check who the txt is from. Those 3 seconds is what it takes to make u a vehicular murderer and me past tense.

Oh, i have no issue hearing them.
