Stop killing albinos! PLEASE

Over the past 19 months, 62 ritualistic murders have occurred in Tanzania, Burundi and Kenya in which albinos were killed to sell their body parts. Four albinos, including a 4-year old, were murdered in July. The buyers are traditional healers who say they can concoct powerful potions with so-called albino magic that businessmen and others believe will bolster their fortunes.

i saw a documentary about this issue on tv, i think it may have been nigeria. Parents sometimes get paid to turn over their albino kids. In the doco the mum and dad denied it but the surviving kids were'nt so sure (from what i can remember). A young man started up a shelter/school for the kids who were being hunted down and gave them a place of safety. It was very sad. During the doco they took a kid into a hut to talk to her (Mary i think) and an angry crowd gathered and wanted to hurt her, she was smuggled out and taken to the school. These kids need to be cared for, not hunted. There is no excuse to kill a child, no reason EVER.

I have personally witnessed this sad affair while living in Tanzania.

The problem has 3 components :-
- Suppliers ( the kidnappers ).
- Fabricators ( the "medicine" men and witch doctors ).
- Consumers ( the rich businessmen and politicians ).

In every such case , vigorously implement MANDATORY Judicial Capital Punishment ( Death by Public Hanging )to all the 3 enablers above and this problem is history.
